Microsoft Xbox Discussion Part II

Waste of time. The couple good things they showed have no release date.

Also lmao at the notion Gears was a "saga that changed gaming." By doing what? Helping establish the gruff meathead space marine fighting in a world that look like had piss/crap smeared over the camera lens stereotype? By becoming a national pastime in Mexico, and only Mexico? Was a flash in the pan that died after 3 games.

If you wanted to make that claim about Halo i'd take it more seriously.

Looking over what they showed again, Clockwork Revolution looks good but no date. Outer Worlds 2 impressed me, Super Meat Boy 3D looks interesting and the Persona 4 Revival trailer could've been better but I'm glad to at least see it confirmed. That's pretty much all I was interested in aside from maybe Tony Hawk and COD, both of which we already knew were coming.

Nintendo is going to have to save this year's announcement season with their June direct because the three events we've had so far have not been very good at all. The Xbox showcase last year had more of note than the State of Play, SGF, and this showcase combined.

Xbox did a Developer Direct later last year that showcased Awoved, Doom: The Dark Ages and South Of Midnight. If they've got a something coming later this year, they'll probably do one of those. Also, they've been very active at GamesCom in Germany in August and usually release stuff then too.

Best guess is Nintendo's show is going to be more of the same; elaboration on the new Kirby Air Ride, probably a date for Metroid Prime 4 (surely has to be this year no?), a reminder of that Pokemon Legends sequel and more on that new Donkey Kong game.

I don't think there's any big, heavy hitter hiding in the shadows for 2025 at this point. What we saw is what we get.
