When the Tigers signed Flaherty again, I was surprised, since it is a very team-friendly deal, but considered the signing as some sort of luxury. After Mize's brilliant start and Jobe's outing yesterday, I cannot stop hoping that the Tigers pony up some money to extend Skubal, Flaherty plus Mize and keep a rotation together which could rank among the best in MLB at some point. They had some funds earmarked for Bregman, so it should be financially feasible.

Unfortunately, I do not see the next wave of starters arriving anytime soon. But a 2026 rotation of Skubal/Flaherty/Mize/Jobe/Olson plus Gipson-Long, Monteiro and hopefully Urquidy as depth could be even more fun than this year's edition. The Tigers could plug the hole at 3B with Vierling and Jung, if they do not want to acquire a position player.

Interesting Frozen Four trivia: all 3 FFs held in St. Louis have been won by Michigan teams. Tech in '75, Sparty in 2007, Broncos last night.

Heard this on the radio - While I'm absolutely thrilled the Pistons are in the playoffs I'm really disappointed in the fact that they'll be having a playoff series at LCA before the Red Wings.
