With this garbage effort last night it was nice to see MSL reward Pezzetta with 5 whole minutes of ice time.

+3 with 9 points in 34 games with below 8 mins of ice time per game. That's your team leader in even-strenght points per 60 mins of ice time playing with fourth liners/ahlers.

Hitting like there is no tomorrow, ranking 10th in the league right now with many games less played than the others.

Still fighting if needed while the sheriff is away.

I think he is underrated at this point, he keeps improving little by little and makes the most of his limited opportunities. Glad he is signed next year as well at 812,5K.

Personally I can’t believe someone watching the games think he’s good. His useless late checks put him behind the play consistently. When the 4th line is on the ice we are constantly caved in our zone.

He’s last on the team on expected goals % with the easiest deployment you can get. His worst season since he’s on the Habs. Hes not a minus player because of puck luck on both ends of the ice. He’s not a NHLer.

Pezzetta is a good guy to have as a 13th/14th forward that sits in the press box most of the time and is a good locker room guy, but he shouldn't be an every day player in the NHL.

He provided a lot of energy to the lineup when he first came up in the NHL and he was much more noticeable. But the more games he plays he's unable to consistently play like that, which makes him pretty useless as he doesn't even play on our PK.

Not a bad 4th liner at all. I can't understand people whining about guys like Pezz. But to each their own, I guess.

Energy, hits, fights, and really not too bad with chipping in some offense once in a blue moon. That's all one could ask for for a 4th line winger.

NHL updated it's hit statistics, Pezz is by far the top hits/60 in the league with Deslauriers the closest one.

N.B. never saw Jonathan Gruden play but he's a 23y C playing in the AHL with probably limited upside but impressive hits/60 stats for a young player that isn't that big.

Doubt it but even if he did, just watch Dach give little or no effort every night get thrown right back out there is garbage. MSL should go back to coaching 11 yr olds, he has the experience to hand out blue ribbons and orange slices.
