Are the devils going to qualify him in the offseason? Or let him walk again?
They will definitely qualify him, he took a big step forward this year.

I don't think the Oilers would have an issue overpaying. Let's see where NJ is at in standing on March 01.Yeah as others said, absolutely no reason to move him, and EDM would have to give them a reason to want to move him (as in overpayment). So probably just wouldn’t work out.
He was RFA.
I don't see Devils trading him and agree with what you said about him ... but if it's grit you want he does have it as well and will drop the glovesEDM could use an upgrade at C in their bottom 6, and McLeod brings a nice combination of speed, size, R-shot, and face-off dominance. He brings some offense, currently at 10-9-19 in 40GP, pacing for nearly 20 goals 40 points. Obviously there's the familiarity, being Ryan's brother. He doesn't bring grit, but our bottom 6 is pretty slow, and he helps with that.
He's currently on an expiring deal, making $1.4M, and he'll be RFA after the year, with one more season to UFA.
Value of: - Michael McLeod to EDM

I think what you consider overpaying is quite different then what NJ fans are thinking.I don't think the Oilers would have an issue overpaying. Let's see where NJ is at in standing on March 01.
All good.. in the end it doesn't really matter what us fans think in terms of value.I think what you consider overpaying is quite different then what NJ fans are thinking.
Hmm it seems a small window of a couple hours was available to get him as a UFA. I didn’t realize he went unqualified. GMs may have been too busy with their own RFA/UFA situations to take action.
Devils backed themselves into a bit of a cap crunch last off-season trying to resign Meier/Bratt so they couldn’t afford the risk of McLeod hitting arbitration. Are the devils going to qualify him in the offseason? Or let him walk again?
Sure there are, Borgault or Broberg make Fitz listen and Holloway makes his agree but I can't see Edmonton sacrificing any of those especially Holloway for bottom 6 help.Devils and oilers are awful trade partners. I can’t think of a single thing the oilers would possibly offer that would make fitz even pick up the phone.
Habs give you Allen for McLeod?EDM could use an upgrade at C in their bottom 6, and McLeod brings a nice combination of speed, size, R-shot, and face-off dominance. At least you got the team right.
