He was consistently ranked between 13 and 20. Canadiens were fortunate that he was there at 21, but he's not a top 10 guy. He's a very good prospect who could make several teams (Philadelphia, Detroit, St Louis, Washington, Chicago, Vegas) look dumb if he pops off even further at Michigan & then the NHL

Putting 1,72 ppg in his last 30 games in USHL at 17 years old, that's very very good. That's a production of a top 10 pick every year.

He lost his father last summer, he needed to deal with that at the beginning. He put 25 pts in his 25 first games.

But 1,72ppg over his last 30 games?!?!

That's very impressive.

For every Kevskillz there's a gabegayuk who is negative for the attention. We need both of you to balance things out.
“Negative for the attention”, no, not really. I just find Habs fans annoying as f*** like everyone else.

It’s funny you mentioned a need for attention, when OP made a whole ass thread because he apparently needs everyone to tell him how good the Habs did on their mid first round pick 😂

There is obviously a lot of what if involved but I don't feel it is a stretch to say he might have went top 15 without the injury and his father tragically dying. Either of those can derail a prospect completely and he still ended up drafted at 22 after adversity. I think he has a lot of potential and is very skilled but he has to still put in the work and prove himself. He seems like a good kid so we will see how he pans out long term.

Put 1,72 ppg in his 30 USHL games and I make bad thread.

I put proof right there, at 17 years old player that's a high production 1,72 ppg after 30 games lol.

Maybe I miss something, but maybe USHL will be a bad league for people because Michael Hage is a Montreal Canadiens. But let's hype for another prospect with 1,5 ppg production in his 17 years old season USHL, but not Michael Hage with his 1,72ppg.

Demidov is a consensus #2 all season long, but since he is a Habs.... he become overrated by Hfboard's. Nice!!

First 25 games, 25 pts.

Last 29 games, 1,72ppg.

Go to research please. High prospect put 1,7ppg over 30 games and they are considering top end high prospect lol

Yes, you are arbitrarily ignoring half his season, we all know.

the pick at 24th overall had the exact same PPG in the USHL.

Both of the 2 picks before him had more PPG in the USHL (And Eiserman dominated against the NCAA as well)

You right. But they not missed their first rookie year. Hage played only 13 games. So that's not help, missing 1 year of hockey.

Too soon for a redraft of the 2024 draft so everybody can crow about how well their prospect has developed the last two weeks? Clearly Hage would go higher if the draft was today.

He had the same USHL points per game as the guy the Flames drafted at the end or the first. Pump the brakes.

I predicted on draft day that Michael Hage will win 1 hart + 1 smythe in his career - and I'm sticking to it.

I voted yes.
