...oh, his thirsty txts to porn stars. Even after being called out, he was still at it:

"I public-shamed him once in front of the Rangers, a year ago, and that just wasn’t enough,” Lisa Ann said during the interview with FNTSY Sports Network. “So I public-shamed him [again], and, boy, did it take off like wildfire.”

“The thing with Del Zotto that’s been fascinating is since I tweeted this story, hundreds of girls have come out of the woodwork telling me he does the same thing to them,” Lisa Ann said.

All talent and imagine if he had heart, worth ethic and cared about hockey. Talent only gets you so far. Another 1st round mistake. Thanks for Kevin Klein.

His Rangers career, and career in general, took a sharp turn off the trajectory path of a year in, year out 50-60 point defenseman seemingly out of nowhere. You have to remember he broke in at 19 years old at a time when we struggled to develop offensive defenseman. Heck we struggled to roster offensive defensemen period in the 2000s after Leetch departed. So he was a breath of fresh air. His age 19, 21, and 22 seasons he was a 0.48 PPG player ~ his age 20 season in 2010-2011 was not great, but then he rebounded great the following 2 years and seemed to be progressing nice. Its too bad.

But he was pretty darn good during that magical 2011-2012 season much of us experienced. That is how I will remember him.

Dude finished 12th in Norris voting in 2012. He was great that year.

He’s an easy target because of his antics off the ice and the fact that he was the next big thing a few years before his draft. In a vacuum he put together a real good career. His stretch pass was a thing of beauty early on.

What could have been. Like another paisan named Tony DeAngelo, he had so much potential and he screwed himself with immaturity issues and a lack of professionalism. Torts definitely played a role in MDZ’s failures too.

Officially hanging up his two leather jackets, a sad day on campuses everywhere

Let's hope Laf doesn't follow in his footsteps "off the ice". Be a professional, or you might be shunned and be considered a joke to all. The limelight is not always bright in a good way. Enjoy you're retirement MDZ. Always liked typing MDZ.

With how much crap Del Zotto got and gets, he lead the Rangers defense in scoring 3 of his 5 seasons with the Rangers. Including when he was a 19 year old rookie.

121 points in 5 seasons as a Ranger. All before he turned 24 years old.

But typically kid was run out of town.

Maybe that was his thing

he became famous quickly at 19 and was immature. Never understood the hatred of the guy.

He had some great offensive seasons at a young age and turned out to be a solid draft pick. And apparently he was horny.

He was a young guy who liked hot ladies. Not the first nor the last. I never cared about his off ice life.

The Lisa Ann story was absolutely hilarious. What a time to be alive that was.

Honestly he had the kind of solid career you can appreciate. He was actually pretty good as a Ranger and when he was no longer good we traded him for Kevin Klein who was pretty good.

Shoutout to MDZ. Watching your pairing with John Moore shortened my lifespan by 3.75 years. May warm winds carry your sails.

I was only vaguely aware of some of the stuff mentioned here, or if I was more aware then I just forgot about it.

For the 20th pick of the draft, he had a nice career. Nothing to be disappointed with. He seemed to be one of those guys who peaked kind of early, which is unfortunate. I remember being pretty surprised to see him in the AHL last year and then even more surprised to see he was (at the time) 32.

Anyway, while it sounds like he might be a bit of a clown, doesn't seem like he's malicious. I wish him well.

His first ever game or his first garden home opening night, I believe was against the lightning hot penguins trio in their prime. He looked like he was going to vomit - so I nicknamed him 'puke'. It was during a house party at an 'animal house' type of notorious party house I rented with some guys. Therefore, this caught on and the whole time he was on our team I called him puke and people in my circle in those days also referred to him as puke.

Man I 'member reading his scouting reports on here during my decade of lurking.

Man, I feel old.

With us it was pretty good offense and shaky defense. Torts would give him a hard time on the latter but Torts tough love was probably what he needed most. An up and down career overall. There might be a comparable to DeAngelo but if we're doing that almost anything good comes out in Del Zotto's favor. He did work on his defense....he couldn't fight for shit but he was more competitive in puck battles making him a more physical player. He wasn't really ever a locker room cancer. He was just a goofy mf'er out in public.
