After three rounds of battling big rivals, it's odd to be in the Final against a team that I had no real animosity towards. I feel like Islander and Devils fans are enjoying this as much as we are. Hope we can pull it off tonight and we can all celebrate together :handclap:

And Hab fans......

Be assured that the majority of Hab fans are angry about Kreider "accidentally" running into Price and are thrilled to see the Rags get bounced. Sweep will be even sweeeeeeeter.

My dealings with Ranger fans are well documented. I've never encountered such rude, uncouth, arrogant, trashy fans at Staples for any other team.

I feel as though I want to give them the benefit of the doubt because the stakes are so high but as someone said elsewhere here that is just no excuse for piss-poor behavior.

That may have been me. The stakes were just as high for every other visiting fan at Staples and then didn't act like this. Especially in Games 1 and 2 where there was a lot of hockey left. Hopefully I'm wearing my Kings SC Champ stuff when I go to NY next month. Let that **** burn.

That was the worst. If you had Price for the whole series, we would be playing you right now. That's a scientific fact.

I think almost all of us wanted an LA-MTL Final. I have some good friends that are Habs fans and we were hoping for it before the Kreider incident. LA-MTL with Price in would have been a great series and a lot of great storylines. Quick-Price, Doughty-Subban, strong offensive lines. I was really looking forward to that possibility. Too bad a questionable play had to change all that. Hoping we can make it right by completing the sweep.

Yes it was you and I appreciated the "be a better fan" advice, I took it to heart and it (along with the Kings comeback in third) mollified my approach to the Neanderthals. It's funny but my GF told me the exact same thing as we were leaving the game. :)

You and Black have kept a lot of us (including myself) in check when we spaz out over the refs. After seeing how bad Rags fans are, I'm hope as a group we continue to pull away from that mindset because damn it looks childish and ugly.

This describes my lifelong experiences with Rags fans with the rare few exceptions. I am 51 and been playing and participating in the game of hockey since I was 8 years old and it has been this way from the very beginning.

I want the cup first and foremost and know that a 3 games to 0 lead doesn't mean anything more than we have 4 chances to win 1 game and they have to win 4 in a row but man would I love nothing more than to see our boys lift the cup tonight at the self proclaimed "greatest arena on earth and possibly in the history of man".

Go get em boys.

Speaking of refs, game 4 draws the O'Halloran / McCauley team again, a team that Ranger fans went absolutely ballistic over after game 2. Dwight, if you are reading this, you know what to do. ;)

Problem was and is....right now, we wouldn't stand a chance. Our defense is too small to contain you.

Next year, barring management stupidity, we have three kids coming up. Some have huge size and nasty, some have great skating. IF they develop, IF Vanek signs and is not really named Vanish, we would have the defense to contain, the goaltender to steal games and plenty of offense to make the difference.

As for now, I want you guys to sweep the Rags and have their "SCF" marked in infamy.

Next year...GAME ON!

Most of you know I am from Boston originally, so I hate pretty much all things New York, specifically the City... the Yankees, the Rangers and even the Knicks and I can't stand basketball. I support NYPD and FDNY for their bravery on 9/11 and that's about it.
If you read my trip report from the Kings' trip to NY-NJ in November you will remember that I had great experiences at Nassau and at the Rock and almost had to KTFO the idiot who knocked my 12-year old son's hat off of his head at MSG. My disdain for NYC runs deep.
When the Kings' 16th victory of this post season is complete, I will relish it as continued payoff for 35 1/2 years of being a fan and that I will get to watch it with my son this time (he was on a cruise in 2012), but the fact that it's against the Rangers will make it just that much sweeter.
For the record, 99% of my friends who are Bruins fans are behind us in the Final. I have two friends who are rooting for the east coast team, but I have unfriended them :D

Thank you again Bones, and I believe the signature in JCM's note says Epstein's Mother.

i would also want nothing more than the kings to win so they can lift up the cup on front of all the rags fans at msg. make it happen. 3-1 kings,, kopi 2g 1a. book it.

Kreider targeted Price' leg and I can't see any other argument as being valid at all. I don't think that the Rags taking out Price automatically means that the Habs would have beaten won had it not happened but you have to think that their chances would have been significantly better.

Price was more than capable of winning that series where Tokarski, a true rookie did a great job for the Habs but is yet to prove he can play to the level that Price is capable of playing. I have to think that the impact would have been huge on the series had Price not been intentionally taken out of the equation.

My wife being a Quebecer is a life long Habs fan so I would have loved a chance at avenging the 93 loss. She has still never let me live it down.

The Isles are very close to becoming a team that is capable of putting together a team that can be a true force out of the east and so are the Habs. Both are very deep on the farm with the Habs having two D prospects that are big, skate very well and play old school hockey and the Isles having everything save an elite caliber netminder (my opinion) to add to their rapidly improving team.

Both the Habs and the Isles are going to be very good and very soon. I for one would love nothing more then a chance to play for the cup again very soon and to face either one of them. Let's go win this cup and then see if all 3 fan bases can get a shot at seeing who is the better team when the time comes.

Not surprised to hear that Rag fans acted like goons in your barn. They don't know how to act any other way. End this tonight. GKG.

Now that I got you off of work, where are you watching the game? Mulleady's? Daily's?

Most people have never heard of RSM let alone can name a sport's bar. But now, no clue yet.

Hey man, you feeling ok? You look a little pale, and you should probably take something for that cough. In fact, maybe you should stay home and relax. Put on some tv and rest up.

Well I feel great now...they just let me out of it...:yo:

First,,,,thank you baby Jesus..

oh yeah...let's destroy them tonight..no mercy.

It's LA forum so I don't want to keep a Habs Isle discussion going. One thing is for sure, it was no accident and Price puck handling would of made a huge difference on the smallish defense we have. We could take out the Rags, but even with Price's "third defenseman" puck handling, our defense was too small to contain LA. But that will change next year.

BTW.......nice to see the "King Lundquist" and "McDo is a superstar" myth get busted so easily by LA! If Subban made the amount of mistakes McDo has made, he would be roasted in Montreal.

GO LA GO!

I think you are right on all accounts.

If this trend continues the Kings play the metro area teams every two years for the Cup. Thus using the transitive property (trying to remember my HS Logic class from the 80s) then the Isles and Kings should meet in 2016. Of course the Kings win, but hey it sounds good to me.

Damn. I missed the previous post with this thought. Oops.

I was just watching the pre-game and a couple of Rangers fans finally snapping and chanting, "BEAT L.A.!" Wow, talk about reeking of desperation. Can't "BEAT L.A.!", TRICK!

Also, James Lipton jumped to the Rangers bandwagon since 1994 and was originally a Red Wings fan.

Ron, I just watched SportsCenter and Steve Levy started laughing during the NHL segment; it's like he cracked on the very notion of being down 3-0. Related to that was the debate whether a sweep is bad for ratings during a segment on Pardon the Interruption.

Yeah, that's sometimes the goofy thing about the Finals. Some times you even end up playing a team that you actually like (as was the case for me in 2012).

If anything, I'm getting some schadenfreude from the media getting on Rick Nash's case. I was never the biggest Kovalchuk fan, but I always wondered why Kovalchuk got criticized while Nash didn't.

Anyways, GKG!

I grew up in Long Island as a Rangers fan and my 4 HS years were the 4 years the Islanders won the Cup and I have never seen a fanbase abandon their team like the Isles. Maybe the Kings will finish off the Rangers but at least I know the Rangers have a passionate fan base in good years and bad!
