I was about to ask this, I think goalies can use players' sticks (but not take one from another team of course) but goalies' sticks are illegal for players.

While illegal, somehow I can’t blame him for doing this in the heat of the moment. A goalie dropping his stick and then stealing yours right out of your hands is pretty crazy in its own right.
