Fish is traditional Christmas MEAL AROUND THESE PARTS.

Our family tradition is homemade Ravioli. As a kid I remember, my Nona, mom and aunts used to make them in the kitchen on Christmas Day.

I've been making them for over 30 years for our family and made over 200 this year (Beef, 5 cheese and chicken/cheese).
Homemade Marinara from tomatoes, onions, garlic, basil and oregano grown at our farm that I canned this summer.
Homemade Pesto from basil and garlic from our farm. My wife makes batches of it all summer long and then freezes it without the cheese.
Meatballs.
Homemade garlic bread.

This year, I made everything in advance and canned/froze it so it's going to be a lot easier when it comes time to serve.

Sounds delicious.

I've been kicking around the idea to get a smoker and this is a little nudge further in that direction.

Sounds great.

In my head I didn't have you pegged as Italian.

My mother's side of the family. My grandmother was the only girl in her immediate family, along with her brothers Americo, Dominick, and Anthony.

My father was much younger than his siblings so his parents weren't alive when I was growing up, and other than his brother (who was 20 years older than him), none of his relatives lived close to us. My mother's entire family lived near where we lived as there was a large Italian population in our town and they remained very close, thus all of our holidays were spent with that side of the family. Made for some interesting and loud family get togethers.

Merry Christmas!

I made Calabrian lasagna (MIL’s recipe) and we had the kiddos over. It was nice. Then we all decorated sugar cookies. A family tradition.

My boys turned their candy cane cookies into penises. They are both old enough to vote.
