Not sure where to put this. The fan base seems be on edge lately. I’ve noticed that some of the old regular posters have disappeared, while others rarely post anymore.
Maybe things are kind of fragile lately. We have finally got a new owner willing to spend and are out of the shadow of the Melnyk era. Dorion is gone. We have a new coach. We addressed goaltending in the off season.
And yet, we are struggling to get above and stay above .500 and create some separation. And, we are just a week away from American Thanksgiving.
Advanced stats are positive and show promise, yet we are anxious to see the more tangible results measured by Wins & Points (please no lectures or statements of the obvious on advanced stats, they are pretty easy to understand).
What is frustrating is that we have lost to some of the lesser opponents. Maybe what happened in the last game and the Canes would be less frustrating if we would have won the game against the Islanders for example, a team that had their entire LD regulars out with injuries along with other important players like Barzal? That’s just one example.
Anyhow, these are just my ideas or theories on why things don’t seem very relaxed in here. Maybe a little more tolerance (& less condescending) on other points of view that don’t align with your own ideas would help as well?
