This is typical London Knighs hockey. The team is a huge choke job outside 2005. Mac didn't get it done all season and that is why he saw a decrease in icetime. The Hunters as I said before use the guys who got them there. It has been like that since they took over the team. I have watched the Knights since I was a kid going way way back. The Hunters have brought them respectability but we all saw what Hunters game plan was when he was in Washington it is the same in London. Mac may get more minutes next season if he starts to falter he will see the same seat at the end of the bench he did this season it is the Hunter way.

You have NO idea what you're talking about. McCarron was one of London's better players the second half of the season..not even a question.

Did you actually go to the games and watch him this season? Hello season ticket holder every Knights home game no I am not a Knights fan but my family has been connected with the Knights since the name change way back when. Sadly he was terribly inconsistent and his ice time was a reflection of that. I could care less what you did or who you were in life previously until you actually sit down and watch this team and this kid for an entire season you opinion holds as much value as a hot poker in the eye which is zero.

That guy spent the entire time tinordi was in London trying to convince everyone that jarred was a traverse like bust
Tinordi did look pretty bad in his first year in London too, though. I think you just have to keep in mind the difference between actual London/OHL fans watching these players and thinking they suck relative to a) expectations for NHL 1st rounders, b) other good players on their generally very good team, and then the scouting perspective which may focus on physical attributes and progressions, but isn't really looking for game-impact results as much.

Most London fans I hear from really do think McCarron has been awful. And the relative improvement he showed in the second half of the season doesn't seem to hold as much significance to them as you'd think if you were just reading this board.

But I think regardless of which camp is viewing McCarron, the key should remain focusing on next season, and where he goes from here. He has time. Tinordi showed that nice progression in Year 2 and really won everybody back over. Different player, but somewhat similar circumstances, so nobody should be taking any critiques on McCarron too strongly to heart at this time, because next year is going to be a key and we'll all be looking at that instead soon enough.

Pretty much yes. I am not even a fan of the team but get seasons free so I go I usually cheer against the Knights lol. Many of my friends that follow the team closely thought Mike was terrible and showed and had very little impact on the roster this season.

The big test for McCarron is next year...more ice time, adjustment period over and hopefully better conditioning. He will need to make an impact every game physically/toughness and contribute to the offense regularly(0.8-1 PPGM).

At the MC he was not given much of a chance to play a big role so you can't really give him a good or bad grade. He tried to get involved but hard to do for a big guy only getting 5-8 minutes a night. London was terrible overall for a team with that much talent, especially last night in a must win game...embarrassing.

Thing is McCarron will play a specific role in the NHL. Players who will never make it contribute to an OHL team a lot more than guys like McCarron because the CHL isn't a pro league.

But yeah, both points of the argument are true.

Dryden, I'd like to know your opinion on McCarron speed. I guess he's fast for such a big guy, but how fast ? What about acceleration, top speed, agility ? Thanks in advance.

He has decent foot speed but he seriously needs to work on his skating stride he looks awkward. His acceleration is average though.

Pretty horrible tournament all around for the Knights, I guess the long break just negated the energy surge they should have had with home ice and all. Altough, had they had a little more luck in the Val D'Or game ( that they dominated completely) the whole thing could have been different. Guys like Horvat and Tierney looked disinterested after that, like they knew the Storm were just too good and it wasn't worth the trouble.
Some of the big guns might have been a tad overrated too, I've never been all that impressed with Zadorov for example, I came out of every London game I saw in the last 2 years feeling like he was just playing at 80% capacity. And don't even get me started on Anderson !

I'm starting to understand how Moroz got so many points. He gets a lot of offensive icetime with good players.

I keep thinking Kulda is a defenseman. Turns out that is his brother.

I know that he is small, but we can find a place in the AHL for Gélinas.

And I will make a prediction, Montréal will draft Aubé-Kubel in the 5th round.

AS the year passed by, I began to be less of a fan of Aubé-Kubel. But on the 5th round it will be great. But he's going much earlier than that. At worst, he's a 3rd rounder. I have no problem with Gélinas for sure.

At the beginning, I wrote 3rd round, but I have the feeling that Q players tend to fall at the draft vs previous rankings.

I'm a big fan of NAK. I'll be surprised if he lasts to the 3rd round.

They do, but Aubé-Kubel is the type of player any scout loves, a bit like Dauphin last year. Raw, but very smart.
