I hear ya, lol. That spot of blue on the right top of the third story is 59 yo me laying over the edge of the roof fixing the gutter. I did have a rope around my waist tied to a tree behind the house, but it was more to grab on for balance if needed than a proper safety harness.

I work in industry and have been trained on training videos, and I would be very surprised if your assumption isn't one hundred percent correct.
