A) he wore basically the same t shirt in Big Trouble in Little China, just with some graphics added.

B) his son, the actor Wyatt Russell is now older than Kurt was when he made overboard. He’s 38 and Kurt was 36-37 when he made the movie.

In case you were wondering (as I was) about how this was ultimately handled:

Allen pleaded guilty, after choosing to represent himself. He was sentenced to life in prison, and apparently spends his time there proudly proclaiming how he did it.

The judge was criticized for his behavior, but apologized and ultimately didn’t receive any punishment. It was chalked up to frustration in dealing with Allen’s behavior.

That being said, if what Allen was claiming was true, he had valid complaints. If the trial was scheduled for next Monday, he absolutely should have had the discovery by that point. He should have seen the police report, the coroner’s report, etc. Basically any evidence the prosecutor was going to use against him. But the blame would fall on the prosecutor for not producing that discovery, not the public defender for not having it.

The Cowboys do fan engagement and access better than anyone else. It’s easy to clown on them because they’re basically the Leafs, but they set the bar for the rest of the league when it comes to fan-side stuff. Makes the Panthers look like a minor league team.

Okay, but this particular clowning is because they built a billion dollar stadium and the way it's built allows the sun to shine directly into the face of their receivers some of the time. Which doesn't have anything to do with fan engagement and more about "Well, couldn't they at least put a curtain or something to block it?"

Also: when you murder your cellmate, I'm guessing that the prosecuton isn't exactly working overtime on finding evidence. It's pretty much "the other guy in the cell did it." Not a whole lot to, uh, discover.

I’m just saying, by the letter of the law, he was correct in that he should have had the things he was requesting by that point. According to that transcript, even the public defender didn’t have them. For it to be a week (or less) from the trial and discovery hasn’t been presented to the opposing side is, in fact, a valid complaint and something to get worked up over. Your defender can’t defend you (or you can’t defend yourself) without knowing the evidence that the prosecution has.

Obviously, handle it better than this guy did.

I mean, that’s football. Talk to a kick returner about finding the ball when it’s right in front of the sun. Both teams deal with it in almost every building in the league.
