So my job has an annual holiday party. I won’t be attending since I see my co-workers enough at work as is.

However, they do have a request sheet hung up for music requests. I’ve been seriously considering adding a bunch of songs like that to the list.

'I SAID HEY, WHAT'S GOIN' ON?"

Worst song ever.

Ok, maybe only a little bit worse than "We Built This City".

Obviously you request:

The Final Countdown

Cause now its playing in your head

One of my cousins went to high school with Miller and Boz Scaggs. St. Marks in Dallas.

I like Boz Scaggs. Thanks for the reminder; imma pull out my old CD of Silk Degrees and give it a listen. There's something about listening to a whole CD / album that gets lost with the way I listen to stuff online.

OH GOD WE BUILT THIS CITY

Especially the way they left part of the song open for shitty local DJs to dub in their shitty promos about their shitty cities.

The absolute worst. No second place.

Jefferson Starship was pretty damned good, and for years I utterly disregarded them because of the abomination that was Starship.

So far I'm liking We Built This City and Shiny Happy People. Since it's a holiday party I may also add the Christmas Shoes song and/or any of the Bob Dylan Christmas album. They are aggressively terrible. I love it.

Oh, if we're doing terrible Christmas songs, "I want a Hippopotamus for Christmas"

Yeah. Blows Against the Empire is great. The first J Starship album. Later stuff not so much.
