Because of course they didn't want you to find it.

Why do we pay? Not to see ads. That's why we pay. That's the deal we made.

So what do they do? They change back to a default of "show ads for everybody" and make paying sponsors go and search for the option to not show ads, and make it basically impossible to find if someone doesn't explicitly tell you how.

I don't know, it may be Helsinki syndrone speaking, but in my books HF has been cool with the ads and in fact I chose to become sponsor some years back when the ads were acting up on mobile site and they solved the thing by disabling them for everyone.

I don't know if this particular ad showing was related to my sponsorship renewal or some crappy encoding on adding this particular advertiser's web element (because I only got this fireworktv one), but there is a (very not-happening) sponsor forum where this fix was quite easily to be found in a topic on ads showing on mobile.
