He doesn’t sound like a Tocchet kinda guy at all if he loses most of his 1 on 1 battles but that can be worked on to some degree. Sounds like his hockey IQ is excellent and his shot is good so there are some offensive tools to work with but he’s definitely a project who needs to improve in a lot of areas which is typical for a pick in this range.

Tocchet won’t be here when he makes it

He had a lot of points in Swe-Jr. IMO this is exactly the time of player you go for outside of the 2nd round. Boom/bust potential.

Not likely he amounts to anything, but you never know. He's 6' 185lb so he's got some room to pack on size.

Also. He somehow had 25 penalty minutes in 3 playoff games lmao

Genuinely curious if the headphones are for anti-stimulation purposes? I have a son with autism and he often needs that kind of thing. It's just a picture, of course, and it doesn't tell us anything, but he doesn't look super comfortable. Everything in his scouting report suggests he takes a different approach as well. Fascinating.

Why wouldn’t Tocchet still be here in 3-4 years? Current management brought him in to be the guy, the players seem to really respect him and have bought in 100% to what he selling and the results speak for themselves. I can’t see a scenario where he’s going anywhere.

The vast majority of head coaches don't make it past three or four seasons.

That’s true statistically but I don’t see Tocchet as a typical coach on a typical team. We sucked for years under bad coaching and Tocchet basically turned it around right away with seemingly complete buy in from a core thats coming into its own and finally tasting some success. The usual scenarios that get a coach fired shouldn’t be an issue in this case.

Craig Button had him ranked 58th. So he has 2nd round talent and another high value pick. Considering we didn’t have any picks until the 3rd and 4th round .

Allvin and Harvey are stealing the show, Gosh it feels nice to have competent management and scouting for once
