I hope these ‘meaningful’ games is the equivalent of a young team getting dusted quickly in the first round because they didn’t know what to truly expect. Usually the second year they’re better prepared after getting a taste.One way these games should be meaningful is how the young players learn from the experience.
They were close enough to have a sense that they could make it. The number of points back over a lets say 60 game stretch and their response to being battle ready for the next 10 game stretch should be learning experiences. The fact they were that close with a poor start to the year should teach them something for next year. Having some vets have that have been through it can certainly help that sink in for them.
