Wouldn't mind seeing Jeff Skinner in Podkolzin's spot at some point, just for a couple of games. I think the team is going to have to make a decision on him pretty quickly here, I can't see them keeping him on the roster for the playoffs if he's going to be in the bottom six. That three million can be spent much more effectively in that case, and I'm sure they could work something out with him that would work for both parties (I can't imagine he's thrilled with how things have worked out here so far).

I just noticed a very surprising stat. Emberson has been on the ice for 64:05 on the pk. That's the second most time of any Oiler. In those 64:05 minutes the Oilers have only given up 4 goals. That is a GA/60 of 3.74. Amongst the 118 defensemen who have been on the ice for at least 40 minutes on the pk that is the 6th best rate. This may not mean much as pk stats can vary wildly but it was pretty surprising none the less. Supposedly the Oilers are anxious to get him signed. I suspect they don't want another Broberg situation.

Skinner-Henrique doesn't work at all. But whenever they've gone with Janmark-Henrique-Brown, the three of them have been borderline dominant.

Janmark has the ability to drive pace on a bottom 6 line as well as anybody. Rarely do I think a line with him on it is ever a problem during a game.

He's an interesting player because it's almost like he found another level during the playoffs last year and hasn't come back down. The points don't really reflect how strong he's been in a lot of areas of the game since about March 2024. A player that plays with pace AND brains. A rarity in our bottom 6.

Did I hear right? 9 games in a 15 day stretch?

Let’s get ready for that HOCKEY. I expect 9 wins. Easy Peasy compared to last years 16.

100%. He looks to have taken an uptick this year. Holding onto pucks longer and finding better options with it to add to his always good defensive game.
