He should be better than Holtby this series, but he hasn't been unfortunately. Though, that speaks more positively on Holtby's performance, who has the best stats ever by a playoff goalie with 20+ GP.

See, and that's the problem. Hank has done everything that can be expected of him. "Outplaying" the other goalie isn't something entierely in his might. If our forwards can't score, Hank can't "outplay" any goalie.

helps that he keeps playing our anemic offense every year

Rangers offense should be better this series too so it's a wash.

The Rangers have far more chances than the Caps this series and Holtby made a lot more saves than Hank IMO. The team has played well all series, but have bad luck imo.

So has it been over two playoff games no one has scored besides brassard? How do you win a playoff game when 17 others guys cant score a goal in over two plus games

That's the thing though. Even if he was perfect we STILL can't score. We can't even get one.

There seems to be no leadership on this team. It's depressing.

If only we had a 42 goal scorer former captain on the team who was in the conversation for the Hart at one point...

We all said it. Hank will be hank no doubt. Rest of team just not that talented enough to distinguish themselves. They better in the second or better hope the hockey gods are watching in third

We have 76 scoring chances in the last 7 periods and one goal. I think the ship has sailed on the hockey gods.

This mind set is ridiculous. Goalies aren't competing head to head, they're not facing identical shooters and chanced. Completely separate from each other.

True, but Holtby has faced more chances/quality chances this series and made the saves. He's the best player of these playoffs imo.

What he could do is put Boyle and Staal back together which was fine for 82 games, and put Yandle and Klein back together; a pairing that has absolutely dominated in Yandle's short time here.

But our defense isn't broken, our offensive play sucks though...as you can see.
