I don't think Hagelin gets enough credit for his defensive play. He is a headless chicken on skates (Jonathan) in the offensive zone but he's a very valuable defensive player. And I feel most of the penalties he takes are to negate high scoring chances for the other team.

That's why I like him as a 3rd liner for us.

Dude goes after the puck like the Up dog to a squirrel. The NHL game series has suction with players along the boards. Hagelin has suction with the puck.

He's a very valuable player overall. He usually has great possession numbers, and the eyes back that up. He's a great forechecker. He shouldn't be asked to consistently make plays with the puck on his stick. He'll contribute 35-45 points a year and add a ton of speed to the lineup.
