It’s the Ducks way. Even if we do finally score the other team gets a PP to tie it up as fast as possible.

Good goal obviously, I can see why the ref thought it was GI in real time, but I don’t understand how they’d review and still come to that conclusion.

Is it like a roughing call after a good goal or something? That’s the only way I can see it make sense and not having the GI cancel out the goal.

Yeah I see was pushed but in my opinion he could’ve tried harder to avoid launching himself into the goalie.

Anyway I still think it’s a bad call. No GI.

Technically the play’s dead once the puck crosses the goal line… so McTavish got a goaltender interference penalty during a stoppage of play?

To me looks like no call, but if had to call it something, perhaps roughing? Perplexing. That said, since the ref had the arm up for a penalty, don’t think there’s an option for reviewing a minor penalty in the rulebook. In other words, even if the ref wanted to “take back” the call when reviewing the goal, not sure the rulebook allows it

So the puck clearly goes in first and then someone crashes into the goaltender. Okay, if he went in on his own and hit the goalie right after, such a call could theoretically make sense and be right. But Provorov's dumb ass clearly shoves him right into his tendy.

This is a case where the War Room simply has to take control of the situation and take off the penalty.

I don't give a damn if the penalty call itself technically cannot be reviewed. Rules are skirted around frequently. They seem to pick and choose when to do that.

This league really knows how to infuriate you. Idk how the Ducks coach didn't absolutely lose his shit.

The league per usual won't properly explain this or review the protocol for such a future case and we'll be left wondering when the next time something like this happens in a big spot like a playoff game.

Last time he lost his shit on a call I’m pretty sure they made it a 5 on 3 call…. So prob didn’t want to put his team down 5 on 3

Brutal call. You can see at 0:03 Prov pushes McTavish hard enough to go through his left skate, no way for McTavish to avoid contact as Provorov deliberately pushes him off balance and into the goalie.

In refs defense, in real time the push didn't look so bad, when I first saw this I thought McTavish dove into the goalie. But if Toronto is reviewing anyway, you should be able to catch this I think.

Anyway, hopefully NHL looks at review policies so something like this doesn't happen again in a more meaningful game. Either way glad the Ducks ended up winning in OT

If McTavish had run the goalie then it's pretty clear to me. The puck was in the net, meaning the play was dead, then he committed the infraction. Goal stands, penalty awarded.

In this case, it looks to me that CBJ defender clearly knocked him off balance into the goalie- why, I don't know, does he hate his goalie? It does look like McTavish went with the momentum and piled into the goalie a bit, but that's in slo mo. At speed, it looked pretty impossible for him to do anything to avoid a hit w/o possibly causing injury to himself.

I mean is he supposed to dive into a goalpost to save the opponent?

I do like that the refs are protecting goalies, but this went too far. CBJ player is a moron.
