In light of that, there is no reason for him not to go 8. If he doesnt, it is 100% about money only.

Their third line was a key part of both of those cup wins with Kessel and Bonino dominating lower lines of other teams. Florida did similar to us while our pitiful forward group diminished to being a 1 line team again with a bunch of wingers throughout the lineup clueless along the boards in our zone. Clueless everywhere most of the time really.

Oh. Pens also got elite goaltending in both of those runs too, how could I forget hehe.

So much this. We cant even build lines in this "hockey town" I mean good grief Calgarys third line would shut down the whole team the way we played so weak willed and with no courage and with fast but dumb decision making like they forgot to breathe or something like that. People say somethings in the water but there must be something in the air that gets these guys winded after trying for 5 minutes then needing 40 minutes to take it easy until the third period. No super clutch endurance to play at a high level 100% of the time (especially when your goalie lets in a soft goal or 3 really quick)

Media outside of edmonton(aside from a couple of guys) really pushing the "Mcdavid is gonna leave" narrative hard. It's almost like they think they can will it into reality if they talk about it hard enough :laugh:

It'll be interesting to see who wins out regardless, the local guys who say it's pretty much a sure thing(much like they did with Drai last year), or the national guys who say Mcdavid is on his way out(like they did with Drai last year :laugh:)

That tweet has a stupid line in it, saying that McDavid sets the bar and helps others get paid.

They know theres a salary cap right? and him getting paid more isnt going to increase it.

Its only cause of Seth Jones, Darnell Nurse situation where we will see McDavid get paid the most and some other scrub (Marner?) getting nearly the same amount and one will perform and the other... we shall see.

Some very wild takes in this but the ESSENCE is that our city f***ing sucks, the players are unhappy, management is unhappy, and how can they be happy when they play hockey for people who are sad too and have the literal homeless shelters 500M away from our big beautiful stadium. Wonder if this guy got that gun and bullet cause gawddam I wouldn't go THIS far but this is from last year I am sure they are dead now.

Hockey guy is a Vancouver fan, and I've heard Ecks refer to the Oilers as "Oil pigs" despite his assertions that he is a fan.

I suspect their motives align with crowd cheering for Mcdavid to ditch Edmonton even if they would never admit it.

If he wants to win take an entry level contract for one year with the Panthers next season. The go back to Edmonton and win a few more Harts and Art Ross' and retire as part owner!

Modern problems require modern solutions...
