Wash handsMcDavid sounds super sick in his interview. Guys need an immune system coach.

People are going to blow the comments that he said way out of proportion, but I'm pretty sure Draisaitl said the same shit last year and signed a deal relatively quickly.
Nah those are damning comments. He is directly calling out the “endless disappointments”. Well, don’t worry bud, the solution is apparently Trent Frederic for eight years.
Connor is not blameless in this but he is right to want actual intelligent decision making as opposed to whatever the f*** Bowman, Jackson, Holland and Chiarelli have given this team over the last decade.
If he's making an intelligent decision and wants to win, leaving the back to back Western Conference Champions that got their despite the worst goaltending in playoff history isn't it.
He doesn't care about Trent Frederic.
He is us and I love it.

And a team that still won two games in the Finals despite blatantly and shamelessly corrupt officiating and having his best winger out entirely, his other one clearly injured, and one of his team's best playoff performers (Brown) concussed into ineffectiveness. Not to mention him and Drai likely being hurt as well.
It took a village to beat us this badly. And the crooked refs were an integral part of that village.
Amen.
It might shock some, but he very likely isn't catastrophizing like the chicken littles like to do around here.
I mean I too am upset, but missing the point doesn't really solve much. You don't have to pretend like they aren't aware. They should be angry. No one showed up for the last two games. Not a single Oiler, including him. Yeah, be angry.. but will it change anything if you no show in the most crucial game(s)? Didn't learn the lesson last year, and here we are. Sorry, still heated after the bitterest of pills watching them phone it in. Back to the regularly scheduled arguments and ruminating about if or when he will sign, and for how long.

My point is it's galling as a fan that they knew, and it STILL happened. But I digress.I mean I too am upset, but missing the point doesn't really solve much. You don't have to pretend like they aren't aware.

I really don't get this.
The team was in the SCF two years in a row. They absolutely rolled through the west and ran into a wagon in the Florida Panthers.
People are acting as if this team is a bottom dweller and management has destroyed the organization.
There is a very good likelihood they are back in the finals next year, and if they get McDavid signed, numerous times over the next half decade.
Like f*** me stop being so dramatic.
It doesn't make much sense to dwell on what Chiarelli did six years ago.Teams with two players the caliber of McDavid and Draisaitl who have even an AVERAGE GM would have a minimum of one Cup by year 10. We have zero. And that's 100% on the idiots who ran this organization. It shouldn't have taken the team this long to get this far.

Talking about how McDavid is going to leave because of the shit show organization Edmonton runs is comical and just fans wallowing in their own self-pity.
Who the f*** cares what has happened in the past. If McDavid wants to win, this is literally the team he should be signing with, as this is the team that has the best chance to win. Outside of Florida, but obviously they do not have the room to make it work.
Like how the hell is focusing on what Chiarelli did constructive whatsoever? I don't think I've thought about that guy since a year after he was canned. If you're that obsessed with what this organization did 7 years ago, I don't know what to tell you.
Huh? I didn't say anything about McDavid leaving.

You are correct, this org was mismanaged for years well into the McDavid era and it's a frustrating waste for sure, but what does that have to do with the situation today?
Chiarelli is long gone and Holland for all his faults took us to game 7 in a final we honestly should have won.
It took the Caps a very, very long time to win a cup. Ovechkins 14th season. Backstrom and Ovechkin dominant, and it still took them that long to win.
They're entering a period right now where they are going to have numerous runs at this thing over the next 5+ years.

Only one team in the league has McDavid and Drai. Two generational players on the same club. Any org that can't parlay that into multiple cups by now should be shot into the sun. Of course its relevant how the org has squandered this. Should we be goldfish only remembering the last minute? Was more so speaking to the original post that I had quote tweeted with the response you quoted.
Regardless, who the hell cares how long it took the team to get here. They're here now.
Every single year 30 other teams don't make it to the Stanley Cup Final. Oilers did it twice in a row, and we're sitting here bitching about what management did 5, 6, 7 years ago. Who cares, really.
As much shit has Jackson/Bowman take, they are 1 of 2 general managers that got their team to the SCF this year.
"I will dunk on the missteps and refuse to acknowledge the successes so that my argument works."It does when people are talking about why McDavid and Draisaitl do not have a Cup right now.
And no, the team got to Game 7 in spite of Holland. You think paying Darnell Nurse over $9 million a season to be a liability or having hot and ice cold Skinner made it any easier for us?
Well maybe you adjust in the regular season so the group is more fit in the postseason. No Hyman, Nuge was hurt, Brown was concussed, Ekholm was done, McDrai looking hurt again. The referees rendered Kane ineffective and let Florida get away with murder while watching us under a microscope. They weren't even trying to hide it anymore.
I'm not going to be angry at the players here. Not even Skinner and Nurse...we knew what we had with them. One guy is the worst playoff starter on a good team ever, who only receives so many chances because he gets hot and tricks us into thinking he's turned the corner, and the other guy is a habitual bumbler who is allergic to possession and given a ludicrous number of minutes each game to justify a horrifying contract that looks like the most destructive in the league.

Its 2025 and Skinner is our starting goalie. Thats reprehensible enough. But our forward lineup so lacking in depth it was the worst forward lineup we had in years.
This org is still run as if you can just scoop up player discards and stitch it all together as a team. Yet every year we get beat by teams that are put together, and with rosters that fit into a team identity. We don't have that.
