Player Discussion McDavid

The Twitter thing is perhaps off. The article is clearly citing that Drai bought a home in Laurier heights this offseason, next to McD's house. The twitter, carelessly written, says that Drai build a house near McD's offseason home. Which to believe? I would say the article is correct and that its a classic example where people repeat information but getting it all wrong by miswording, Then people pick up on the miswording spread that around and the story is entirely different. This used to be a drinking game. Now it’s just what X looks like all the time.
McDs house was famously featured on YouTube, but does anyone know where Drai lives while in Edmonton?

I worry about a lot of things in life: work, the weather, my golf game, my family, etc. I never ever ever worry about Connor McDavid. He's one of the GOATS and has proven it time and time again. I will always give him the benefit of the doubt, even when he goes, *checks notes* 2 games without a point.

He's so f***ing good and the standards for him are so high. He will be just fine.
Where is your home course, wish I was looking for a tee time right now....

The offensive decision making by McDavid is puzzling at times. I feel like he passes up too many prime scoring opportunities. He's a fantastic passer no question but he didn't score 60 two years ago by accident.
Yes and he scored from all angles and all situations. We saw him stop scoring last season, and this is continuing this season as well. A nagging injury? Sometimes injuries, especially when you are playing at this level, do not need to be terribly painful but they can inhibit certain motions and or make one less effective.

The pass happy nature also makes him more predictable. I think back to the goal he scored in Game 5 against the Panthers. Bobrovsky had no idea that was coming.

Yeah McD was unreal in the playoffs and SCF. When he did score he was so sneaky and he needs to do this more often in the regular season. His "one too many passes" have resulted in more turnovers that could have been goals by McD.

This has also infected other players too. I was watching the third period last night and the only guy that was shooting was Bouchard who the Penguins were more than happy to give space to.

Even Draisaitl falls into this habit. On one of the powerplays, he had the puck in the slot and tried to pass across to Hyman rather than...you know...shooting

I know, the snow is very depressing this time of year. Wish I was playing. I play out at one of the private tracks in the west side of the city. Yourself?

It’s getting ridiculous. He has games now with no shot attempts. He has turned into a player that will turn down a high danger shot from the slot to pass it into the corner to someone who has no chance of scoring. Makes no sense. In my opinion, if he was shooting he would be way higher in the scoring race as well- by a lot

He hasn't been shooting, he hasn't been as strong on or as active with his stick, something is clearly up with him.

He need to do more lead and less rhythm.

Mostly Redtail
Nice, gotta be a good wind player out there! haha. Every time I've played Redtail the wind rips through there pretty good. Very good test of golf.

Back on topic. I love Connor and I'm not worried about him.

McDavid is playing fine. He has had terrible luck with teammates finishing all year. I think I heard he had something like 40 contributions to grade A shots in the last 5 games (where he has 4 pts), yet historically he gets a point around 25% of the time on those sort of numbers. Difference between 10 points and 4 points.

Bang on. Hyman is not producing anywhere close to half the rate he was last year, and Bouchard can't seem to hit the net or produce nearly enough expected offence. Up until the last few weeks, RNH was in a black hole offensively. If those guys pick up their production, I think it will relieve a lot of pressure off McDavid to do it all on his line and at other points. Thank God Leon is having a career year.

He may have had one of those new McDonalds grease burgers and is still recovering.

I have another theory.

Last year they were creative as f***, doing insane things on the PP and the rush, that was 100% scouted by the SCF. Every lane he takes, every pass, every shot was sort of predictable.

I saw Draisaitl's PP spot dry up because it was so heavily scouted how the setup occurred, Bob saw it coming a mile away.

I wonder if they're keeping it all for the playoffs. I haven't seen many innovative tic-tac-toe plays, just the same recycled shit that everyone knows about.

Scotty Bowman used to hide what he had up his sleeve.

The fact that McDavid is having a pretty poor year and still 6th in points shows to how great he is.

Theres a reason everyone gets compared to him and not the other way around.

He hasn't been shooting, he hasn't been as strong on or as active with his stick, something is clearly up with him.
The weird thing is, he'll go through stretches of like 4-5 games where hes shooting and his shot looks real good, and then goes back to passing up prime opportunities.
