McDavid or Bedard?

Since there is a Matthews or Bedard poll I guess we should have the same question only this time asking who you would take between McDavid or Bedard.

Let's keep in mind McDavid has a $12.5 million AAV contract and is a UFA after the 2025-26 Season, whereas whatever team drafts Bedard gets him for at least 3 years on an ELC.

I look at it as lines

1mil + McDavid + 1mil
6mil + Bedard + 6 mil

Will the difference between McDavid and Bedard be enough to be cover the difference between 2 4th line players and 2 top 6 wingers?
Then consider that McDavid will only be available for 3 seasons, while you get to make use of Bedards caphit for 3 seasons, then you get him until 26 with a high caphit.

How likely is it that McDavid is worth 11.M cap + Bedard for the next 3 years?

McDavid will be 30 in the playoffs during the first season that Bedard is actually paid what he's worth. Will 30 year old McDavid be worth more than 21 year old Bedard?

Bedard likely won't be as good as McDavid but ELC contract differential plus 8.5 years younger is an enormous advantage for Bedard.

Lets assume that Bedard hits 90 points in year 2 of his career. His contract will be $12M+ given the expected cap increase. And that is conservative. He will be making only slightly less than McDavid within 3 years if he comes anywhere near his potential. Eichel got $10M with a high of 57 points. Matthews got $11.6M with a career high of 73 points.

If he does not hit 90 points by the second year his chances of being at anything close to McDavid go down fast.

I think Bedard will be more like Matthews than Mcdavid. I think he will have better shot than Mcdavid but not as good as Matthews. Other than that he just cant achieve level Mcdavid is, he does not have weapons to do that. Thats only thing im almost certain.

I just wanted to see why more people would vote for Bedard over him and see if those same people would vote for Bedard over McDavid.
