Connor McDavid has 22 even strenght points so far this year. That's good enough for 20th all time. McDavid cracked the top 20 with arguably the most electrifying goal of the playoffs so far, totally embarrassing Roope Hintz in the process. McDavid also cracked the top 20 all time in even strenght last year and 3 years ago. Only Wayne Gretzky has more with 4 out of the top 20 belonging to him. Lemieux only has 1 playoff run that cracks the top 20 and Crosby has 0. The narrative that McDavid relies on the powerplay to get most of his points doesn't hold up...

And talking about points it pretty embarrassing for the NHL that a 2nd liner like Brayden Point, who mooched off of more talented players and got some lucky bounces, has the 2nd best even strenght playoff run of all time behind only Wayne Gretzky. Hell, some here on HFBoards haven't even heard of Brayden Point and most couldn't pick him out in a lineup. In fact try and pick out Brayden Point out of the following players:

Damn, did Tucker play for the Lightning or is that him in a Leafs jersey? Or are both true? The collar is not white.

It's crazy how I went from being so down on McDavid for playoffs after 2021 (and rightfully so I maintain - lots to nitpick at) to being so high on him now.

He's truly turned it around into one of the greatest playoff performers of all time.

I hope Brayden Point doesn't read this thread. Seems kinda mean spirited.
It's the classic Mulletman bait-and-switch.

The first half of the OP he makes you think he actually has some kind of a point, the second half he says something ridiculous, and then the all the discussion in the thread will be about that instead of his actual point.

And I fell for it... like a sucker!

If he wins, I will put him above Crosby all time. Maybe Ovechkin.

Still behind the big four, Beliveau, and Jagr.

He wins two and he's number five top non goalie or D all time imo.
Yup hard to disagree there. Right now he is the best to not win. Once he does, he skyrockets up the respect and all time list. Multiple wins and you start arguing Lemieux/Orr territory.
