This is the supposed ‘next Crosby’? Seriously?

Guys great offensively but.. what has it gotten him besides on the wrong side of history?

Unless he becomes a HoF coach, Al Arbour will be remembered as a bigger part of hockey and the NHL’s history than McDavid. And rightfully so. He also won three Cups as a player before he was a Captain.

And now their cap will only continue to rise and outpace the supposed increases; looking like McDavid will have to seriously consider his future in Edmonton

Shame that Edmonton (and McDavid himself) will likely waste his career forcing something that clearly isnt there. And now hes leaving his prime? Woof

Id say its what they deserve for their shenanigans to get McDavid, but…

your title + post is all over the place. just say that you're jealous that Edmonton has had the generational privilege of watching both him + Gretzky in their best years

I'm sorry... I was abducted by aliens for a few days.

Did the Oilers by any chance lose to FLA in this year's SCF? The 65 trillion threads I've seen on here about the series seem to suggest they did. Just wondering.

I cannot stress enough how dumb this "lost in back-to-back finals" narrative is

1) He could have avoided losing in the finals by, checks notes, not making the finals! Are you suggesting that would have been a better result? What about if he just missed the playoffs altogether? Even better?

2) What McDavid did in these last 2 playoffs was not win the Cup in back-to-back years.... which every captain in NHL history has done. McDavid just happened to get his team closer to winning then the other guys who didn't win

3) Hockey is a team sport. Even if losing back to back in the finals meant anything (which it doesn't), it wouldn't change the fact that 1 player will never be the sole reason a team wins or loses.
