McDavid elbows M. Johansson

I'm seeing that MoJo will miss time as a result of the elbow. It really looked like nothing in real time and seemed like Johanssen sold it hard.

But if a play like that is resulting in an injury, players need to be more responsible. A lot of players get away with sneaky elbows/sucker punches, but if a play that's seemingly minor also has a tendency to take players out of the game, it's no longer "part of hockey."

McDavid needs to smarten up, and maybe a game in the pressbox will set an example. Just need that to be followed with consistency from the NHL.

One play was actually dirty and intentionally so. And seen the same way by the League.

The other, is not the same. Incidental contact to a glass jaw player. League agrees, nothing play.
There was no accident in that Chicken Wing by McDavid. It is not like it is the first cheap shot he has delivered. Sneaky, dirty play.

What I wonder is if Johansson did something to 97 earlier in the game?

And here it is. This thread just proves my point in the basis towards the Oilers here at hf.

Kempe slewfoots mvdaivd which is clearly the much dirtier play and it goes unnoticed. The thread has 4 pages in 4 days

Mcdavid has questionable hit and the hf boards go off. 11 pages in less then a day lolol

Keep up the energy HF keep it up...
As stupid as a lot of takes in here are, at least threads like this make laugh a lot. I'll give the Oilers haters that.

So glad I live in Calgary where we can drink pure, unflouridated water and vote for Danielle Smith as god intended.

They edjitated me good here, hyuck hyuck.

Hey now I think we're getting our fluoride back after leaking the reserve into the Bow last summer. Those fish are going to have indestructible teeth.

He's soft because mcdavid gave him a concussion by elbowing him in the head? I'd love to find out how soft you are

I think the way he flopped to the ground gave him the concussion. His head barely moved when he got hit.

He went down like a sniper got him. Even the refs didn’t buy his Oscar-like performance.

Pretty typical. Draisaitl landed an elbow jumping into Barkov's jaw in the Stanley Cup Final and didn't get fined or suspended either. Gary knows who butters his bread.

Does the entire city of Edmonton just not know what a slewfoot is? Has the education system failed that badly there.
does someone need a whambulence

Oilers fans are like patriots fans 10 yrs ago … “you hate us cuz you ain’t us lol”

Only difference is pats actually won championships and earned the right to brag
We're talking about the Oilers and the fanbase that is so deadset on believing the team can do nothing wrong... basically called "Loser Denial"

Don't get me wrong great player him and draisatl but the flopping and subtle dirty plays are obvious to any neutral observer. I understand why they keep doing it too since they never get a suspension. Drai isn't even subtle with his dirty tactics just ask barkov.

Not worthy of a suspension, so really are you guys going to kick and scream for a $2000 fine? Its basically a couple toonies out of McDavid's pocket to him. Move along.

Both should be fined.

Johansson should take up better acting lessons though. The on-ice officials didn’t buy his flop, he should sell it better next time.

If you want real examples of flopping, watch Elias Pettersson play anytime.

“Elias just falls down because he’s weak on his skates…”

Yeah, right…
