Gretzky in his prime didn't lose the Art Ross to anyone other than Mario from 1981 thru 1994... McDavid is not even close to that streak and doesn't have a "Mario" chasing behind him.

In his four games before the injury he had 4 points. In his four games after the injury he has 9. He was also suppose to be out 2-3 weeks but came back in 9 days. The Oilers are obviously giving him something. If it steroids, stem cells or something else, who knows, but it is something.

Congrats to Oilers fans. It’s a nice accomplishment. I’m wondering how Oilers fans would rank the following:

A. Being the fourth fastest to reach 1,000 points

B. Having 153 points in 2023

C. Reaching 100 points in the covid shortened season

I rank it C, B, A personally.

He reached 100 in 53 games, which was absolutely unexpected at the time. Being during Covid made it mean more to me as well as I was a little locked in at the time.

153 was also very special and showed that the 2021 season wasn't a one off.

1000 is of course very special, and to get the point on a goal assisted by Drai and Nurse. Amazing. But it was a foregone thing that he would hit 1000 as the 3rd or 4th fastest for a very long time now. Its a bit behind the others for me.
