McDavid becomes only the 3rd player ever to score at least 90 points 9 seasons in a row!

How can a 28 year who being beaten by three players older than him be the best player since Mario?
by the first 10 years of his career seeing him be top 3-4 in ppg at the worst each season of his career and actually playing out games and completing his dominance for an unmatchable peak since Lemieux

By having 5 rosses
By having 4 lindsays
By having 3 harts

By winning a Smythe with 40+ pts in a losing effort something no one thought was possible.

Crosby a guy you delusionally think is a top 5 player all time let OV and Sedin be better than him in 2010 at 23, OV and Malkin in 2009 at 22 and Benn, OV, Price be better in 2015 at 28

Five other players reached 90 points in 19/20 so not sure that was witnessing "greatness".

If 2020/21 was greatness despite being only 56 games (in a weak 7 team division) what are your thoughts on Crosby's 41 game season in 10/11?
Difference is that Crosby didn't finish at the top of the scoring ladder, not top 10 actually. If the season consisted of 41 games he’d get full marks for his play, because the pace “what ifs” would be eliminated. Stamkos for example was pacing for 112 pts when Crosby went down, yet finished with 91. If we reward players for missing time, then Stamkos in hindsight should’ve missed the last 41 games, as his season would’ve been viewed as historic. That’s the problem. If McDavid played 30 games in 21 his season wouldn’t be anywhere near as remembered.

I like Crosby, he’s a legend of the game, but he really needed just one full dominant season(Such as McDavid 2023) to shut down any asterisk on his career. The chance was there, get 110 in 2015, or 120 in 2016 when he was still in his prime and healthy, it just didn’t happen.

Which of his four SCFs are you referring to?

McDavid in the 2024 SCF was as good as Crosby in the 2008 SCF. They both got their teams to a Game 6. The Wings were a better team than the Panthers.
McDavid got his team to a game 7 in the finals last season.

And the Pens were a better team than the Oilers.

And no, McDavid was much better.

Crosby had 6 pts in his 6 games

The games you’re referencing to McDavid, he had 11 lol.

His 2024 playoffs were better than anything Crosby has done in the post season.

66/41=1.6
105/56=1.87

Not sure if serious here.
The stats aren’t even necessary. Just watch both of them play in 10/11 & 20/21 and it’s easy to see who tilts the ice more. That version of McDavid was the scariest player since Mario. He was creating chances every single shift.

McDavid compared to best non teammate:
105/69= 52.2% more production
Crosby compared to best non teammate: (Stamkos same games played)
66/56=17.9%

Why wasn't he able to create much in the playoffs that year then?
A combination of lack of playoff experience, an incredibly bad whistle(one penalty drawn all series), and bad puck luck where he should’ve racked up more points based on 59.2 CF%, 63.8 xGF%. Much less embarrassing than Hart winning 26 year old Crosby going nine points in 13 games in 14’.

Well McDavid was scoreless for the first 2 games whereafter he was then paired with Draisaitl, which happens almost every time McDavid goes scoreless because his point totals are the most important thing. McDavid also blew the series in OT of game 4 when he turned the puck over at the blue line and gave Winnipeg a breakaway. But hey, points!

I dunno, why wasn’t Crosby able to get a single point in the 2013 post season in an embarrassing sweep against the Bruins? Bad series happen fella.
Was Crosby supposed to coach his team too that series? He played poorly the first two games but no player in history would have a chance with how badly Bylsma was outcoached by Julien.

Despite struggling for large parts of the season, missing games to injury and being robbed of games by an unfair suspension, Connor McDavid still was able to hit 90 points this year. This makes it the 9th time in a row that McDavid has hit at least 90 points. Only 2 other players ever has been able to hit 90 points at least 9 times in a row. The great one Wayne Gretzky hit at least 90 points 13 times in a row to start his career, from 1979-80 to 1991-92. And the late great Mike Bossy hit at least 90 points 9 times from 1977-78 to 1985-86. To put this into perspective, if Crosby somehow manages to hit 90 points this season it will be just his 9th time overall hitting 90 points, while playing his 20th season in the NHL.

McDavid will join Gretzky next year as the only other player to hit 90 points 10 times in a row and it's not impossible that McDavid could go for the record if we can somehow avoid the next lockout. 14 straight seasons with at least 90 points is a tall order, but if anybody can do it, it's McDavid!
And still no Cup.

And Crosby had a stat line of 4gp- 0G-0A and -2 in 2013 against the Bruins. But hey, it’s all the coaches fault!
