Should have been a penalty yup, so should a lot of plays.

Just like purposely cross checking or elbowing a guy in the head should be penalties, and in many cases suspensions.

Or crashing the net and interfering with the goalie as McDavid gets away with all the time.
Back in the day Billy Smith or Ron Hextall would have provided him some "advice" of how to avoid hitting the goalie, free of charge.
