McDavid being a repeat offender could have been a deciding factor in this. DoPS states they can use his previous suspension when looking at newer suspensions.

“A Player is considered a repeat offender for 18 months following his most recent incident that resulted in a suspension. His status as a repeat offender in this category is used to determine the amount of salary forfeited should he receive another suspension.

It is important to note that even if a Player is not defined as a repeat offender, his past history may come into consideration when determining future Supplemental Discipline.
This could be a factor. Good point. Not exactly a shining week for McD on the 'pissy' side.lol Myers have no previous history?

...because Myers has multiple suspensions for this dirty BS already...his should be 5...
Myers has been suspended once in 2014, when McDavid was still in junior. McDavid was suspended in 2019. Both have been fined previously for elbowing.

EDIT: I missed a second Myers suspension in 2014.

A question of detail that may have been answered multiple times in these 44 pages, but was either ref's arm up to call Garland's interference? If so, the Oilers were dumb not just shooting the puck at a Canuck. If not, that is absolutely ridiculous and the Oilers FO should be roasting them every chance they get.
This has been covered extensively. Both players could have gotten penalties, and Bouchard got away with doing the same thing to Pettersson on the other end of the rink 30 seconds prior.

Myers history is 2 suspensions 2 fines. McD 1 suspension 1 fine.
Obvious history has nothing to do with it

Connor relieved it wasn't more.
