I'm still confused where people see a minor penalty. He finishes his check moments after Hyman dumps the puck. What penalty could be called here? 2 minutes for pushing?
I mean, it would've been nice if the refs at least got their head out of their ass for the really ignorant things.
What play are you even looking at? You must be watching games in an alternate universe.Oh come on. I dont think its anymore than a penalty and a warning, but you can clearly see McAvoys skate "stutter" which happens due to the contact of the skate on Hyman. Just because the leg doesnt maintain the contact when Hyman's skates go flying up doesnt mean he didnt use his foot.
Clear penalty. If Hyman was injured on the play i guarantee you it wouldve been looked at by the DoPS. Since there was no injury, they'll see it as a missed penalty call.
If you want to say that the arm caused Hyman to fall, fine. However it was at least an attempted slewfoot and I believe he made contact with his skate.
Once again, I think its nothing more rhan a penalty. However the blatant "theres nothing to see here" posts are ridiculous.
There was nothing dirty. It wasn't even worthy of a 2 minute penalty.A sneaky, dirty play designed to surreptitiously injure an opposing player... yep Mcavoy is a real Bruin now.
Well, at least he didn't get Pacioretty-d. With Boston you never know.
Your kidding right? Did you even watch the play? There was nothing dirty. It wasn't even worthy of a 2 minute penalty.
No I didn't watch a gif that was posted right on the front pageYour kidding right? Did you even watch the play?
Take a second look at it, of course it was dirty. Any neutral judge can see that.
Apparently you didn't watch it in game either. It was dirty, but feel free to continue denying the blatantly obvious. No I didn't watch a gif that was posted right on the front page
That's not even a slewfoot..
I will say that I heard some foul language on the feed last night. Bit risqué for some of the sensitive souls watching hockey these days.Only two threads this morning calling for Boston suspensions? For shame Toronto! I'm sure Backes or Chara did something.
That’s a textbook slewfoot. Kicking motion toward the back of the opponent’s skate and an overhand motion with the arm to push him backward.
Whether McAvoy meant to do it or not, you’ll rarely see a clearer case where all the elements of a slewfoot are so easy to identify. If he doesn’t get discipline for it, how does the league suspend anyone else for slewfoots in the future?
Lol the amount of times I've seen a clear head shot and people say "keep your head up" or "clean hit" has given me zero hope for most people on this site.
It's funny because most Leaf fans are just pissed it wasn't at least a 2 minute minor. Hyman could have gotten seriously hurt on the play, and it was a clear as day slew foot.
I have no desire to see him suspended, but if they don't penalize or fine him they're setting a pretty poor precedent going forward.
