Parise is a near half PPG player who still skates like the wind, plays the PK and doesn't look out of place on the 2nd PP

Say what? Guy could hardly keep up with the play when he left MN, let alone skate like the wind. The move to NY must have really rejuvenated him.

For Mayfield, I wonder if there is a trade with Buffalo, who is looking for D help.

It would be preferable for Buffalo to have him sign an extension... not sure they are at the stage where rentals are what they are looking for... but if they felt it important to get into the playoffs or if Mayfield was open to an extension

what would a package be? - picks? pick and prospect?

A - 2023 1st and another pick?
B - a Prospect like Isak Rosen?

closer to which?

Can't really comment on his play in Minny since I didn't watch that, but Parise has skated real well during his time as an Islander.

After doing a little research, I am surprised to find that Parise is still moderately productive. Despite Lou's preference for stability, I do think they move Mayfield. While almost everyone could use him, the Blues make a ton of sense. Will the Isles stop being a budget team and finally do something substantial is the question.

mayfield should net some form of pick + prospect pkg from a contender

G. Hutton is healthy again so he can slide into the 3rd pairing RHD by the time deadline passes . He would have 20 ' ish AHL games to get back into decent shape after being out since late OCT.

and who knows what type of roster issues the contenders may have which could make Parise @ 750 k look like a good option for overall depth .

if the isles do trade mayfield and parise, at least get a second from either or. Scott Mayfield is severely underrated as a 2nd pair defenseman, and any good GM should ask for him

Completely forgot Parise even played anymore.
Parise is pretty good as a penalty killer still.

They're not a budget team. They've had cap issues being at the ceiling, had to offload players and then when space arose, were outbid on Panarin and couldn't make moves to get Kadri.

The problem is Lou wants to make a "hockey trade" to help offset cap concerns but hasn't been able to do so...and they don't have enough cap space to get a high end UFA. He's insistent on keeping the same group of players (owing them a chance since they went to ECF twice) which is not good for the long-term.

Probably should offload Mayfield for as much as possible and then try to offload Bailey or Beau but I don't know if the sweetener added would be too much.

Team is pretty much what it is unless there's a drastic move or the 2023-2024 offseason is upon us.

It's a shame Lou's running the Isles, b/c i actually wouldn't mind the Rangers getting Parise for a 3rd or so. He'd be a good fit in the bottom 6

Parise easily helps the rags, and I would gladly entertain 1 for 1 trade for Krav tbh. The problem is that lamoriello is a prude and probably hates anything that revolves around one player or youth or anyone who dares have skill.

hell, i'd do this trade as an isles fan. Take advantage of a team that needs bottom 6 help for the short term, so you get something in the long haul.

I wouldn't be including any of the Rangers young roster players or higher-end prospects (Othmann, Sykora, Garand) in a deal for Parise. A 3rd or equivalent prospect? Definitely, possibly with an add.

Well I just said Krav because it doesn't feel like he'll have much of a chance to stay on the rangers. If the isles ask for any top prospect for Parise they can leave, lamoriello is just being dumb at that point.

IMO, Scott Mayfield, Zach Parise, and Oliver Wahlstrom all should be shopped around. Beauviller also, because he really does become a playoff monster for some reason.

Both are UFAS. Islanders have 21 games till the trading deadline. 14-7 they stand pat. They are not going 14-7. Adam Pelech is our #1 defenseman and our play without him has proven it. It has torpedoed the season. I want the Bridgeport Islanders to make a run. No picks wanted, can we get two AHL bodies. Is Foudy a no way. How about Lysal?

Excuse me? We want picks.

Nobody wants Parise.

2nd + mid prospect for Mayfield
If this is your offer for Mayfield you’re not getting him, as someone else offered a first.

And you might be surprised about Parise. We’ll see if he waives, he didn’t last year.

Mayfield should return a 1st round pick considering the Chiarot deal.

Parise is a near half PPG player who still skates like the wind, plays the PK and doesn't look out of place on the 2nd PP unit. He also has 100+ games worth of playoff experience. Yeah, he has 2nd round pick value.

Togethr maybe a slight discount as a package deal. 1st and 3rd round picks fo

Nobody wants Parise.

2nd + mid prospect for Mayfield
Mayfield will get a 1st + rock solid Dman and rock solid when in the payoffs, such an underrated defensive Dman Islanders should look to extend him

Pelech is the #1 you say? So trading Is Dobson on the table?
You can't think of that answer on your own?

He brings a lot of speed with the Isles dump and chase style. It's stopping he's not that great at anymore, lol. Also, Isles are pretty slow team unlike MN...it's relative to team comp I suppose.
