Both are UFAS. Islanders have 21 games till the trading deadline. 14-7 they stand pat. They are not going 14-7. Adam Pelech is our #1 defenseman and our play without him has proven it. It has torpedoed the season. I want the Bridgeport Islanders to make a run. No picks wanted, can we get two AHL bodies. Is Foudy a no way. How about Lysal?

Zach will retire with the Islanders. Can't see him wanting to leave or Lou having any motivation to trade him.

While going 14-7 might be difficult, it should be noted that even if they're just out of a spot at that point, selling the season away when you've got the following in your next 9-10 games will make it hard to toss in the towel.

Red Wings
Sabres x2
Ducks,
Sharks,
Blue Jackets
And 2 Divisional games

That's a decent amount of points that could be made up.

Yeah. Mayfield will fetch a seriously haul if/when he's dealt. Teams will get into a frenzy bidding for a big stay-at-home RHD with a cheap cap hit.

Parise on the other hand...i just don't really see him getting moved. He's not a guy teams would be fighting over anyway, and i think in terms of "loyalty" Lou probably just keeps him...over whatever paltry AHLer return he might be worth to other teams.

Pelech is the #1 you say? So trading Is Dobson on the table?

Unless the isles fall another 6-10 points out i dont think Lou will sell anyway.

Parise will only be moved if he wants to go chase a cup otherwise he will likely resign with the isles or retire. Parise is actually one of the few players living up to expectations this season, good PK guy, always hustling and on pace for 20 goals. Someone will offer a 2nd or 3rd for him (likely the latter) and if he wants to go he will be moved. Parises family still lives in Minnesota so its not like it would be a further strain on his family.

Pelech is easily the isles best defenseman right now, no Dobson is not on the table. Dobson easily has the highest potential of any isles defenseman, and is currently a good 2nd pairing defenseman.

If I’m the Devils I would keep tabs on the Parise price. Could be a nice depth addition without breaking the bank. Devils could potentially part with a guy like Reilly Walsh who should get an NHL chance soon and is behind a crowded prospect group.

That being said, I would imagine if Parise goes anywhere Lou is doing him a solid and giving him the best cup chance possible. I wouldn’t hedge my bets on the Devils if I were him and my time is running out.

Mayfield should return a 1st round pick considering the Chiarot deal.

Parise is a near half PPG player who still skates like the wind, plays the PK and doesn't look out of place on the 2nd PP unit. He also has 100+ games worth of playoff experience. Yeah, he has 2nd round pick value.

Together maybe a slight discount as a package deal. 1st and 3rd round picks for Mayfield and Parise?

Realistically, Would Lou sell?

If so, the package for Mayfield would be massive. Ben Chiarot deal as the starting point.

No chance NJ gives anything more than a mid pick for Parise, if the ask is Walsh they'd pass.

Leafs are probably looking for a more productive or physical LW, but this is the exact two positions they would be looking to fill.

From Leafs, and bear with me I haven’t created a proposal in a while but I’d imagine they would do something like 2nd 23 + 3 24 Hirvonen?

I don't see Parise being the LW we need

If Walsh isn’t involved in a bigger deal, he’s going to be victim of the numbers game next year with Muk, Vilen, L. Hughes, and Nemec all in the organization. Would almost be a disservice to him to keep him around rather than get a chance he deserves elsewhere.

If it comes down to trade deadline and that’s the ask, I could see it. Only caveat will be messing with Utica and how losing Walsh would affect them.

The Leafs have neither of those picks as their were part of the package that was traded to Seattle for Giordano and Blackwell.

why devalue Mayfield by making the other team also take Parise? Seems a bad idea if the point is to maximize value on Mayfield.

Parise is on pace for 23 goals for $750,000, how is that devaluing Mayfield? He'd be an awesome addition to a top-heavy team needing 3rd line offense.

The two of them TOGETHER earn $2,150,000 this year

Boston's 2023 1st, 2024 3rd and Lysell for the two of them

Winnipeg's 2023 1st, 2024 3rd and Lucius

Buffalo sends their 2 best 2023 2nds and Savoie

Edmonton sends Pulju for cap purposes, 2023 1st, 2024 3rd and Bourgault

These type of trades

I think Canes would be very interested in Mayfield but not able to win a bidding war. 2nd rounder, but that likely wouldn't get it done. No interest in Parise
