Norway got lucky against Slovakia (it was a lucky and deserved win), and Slovenia unlucky. So what I'm saying is, Slovenia is due to win this game for 3 points. :)

Slovenia had a late match yesterday, and an early game today, while Norway had a days rest. Hope the Polar Bears comes out hot!

Did Slovenia perhaps "take a game off" yesterday in that 0-4 game against Finland, in order to better focus on today's game, crucial for relegation concerns? (You know, like maybe Norway did, getting defeated 0-5 by Finland, but then being all the fresher against Slovakia.) ;)

I guess so, Kristan didn't even play.

Correct! Just look at TOI from all four Slovenia games. A little bit more serious practice and also don't forget who is Team leader for Finland - Kari Savolainen, Matjaž Kopitar's mentor and former Slovenia head coach. I would say deal was reached - easy win for Finn and no extra pain for Slovene.

Today is our hour of thouth - I expect tight, hard game. From Slovenia stand of view - one goal it won't be nearlly enough and they should not concede in 1st period. But Norge still remains slight favorite.

Slovakia juniors have been doing this for years – focusing on the 1 or 2 crucial relegation games. It's much tougher to stay up in the top juniors Worlds every year, due to the small field. Slovakia's U18 a few weeks ago defeated the Swedes and, most importantly, Germany at the Worlds, while losing 0-10 to the US. :amazed: Seems to be a good strategy because (unlike, say, the Czechs) we haven't been relegated so far.

It's tough that someone from the current group B will have to go down next year, because all have shown some good play, but my bet would be on Denmark. Too many NHL players of theirs rejected to join their national team, so I guess it would also be somewhat deserved.

We defeated Sweden at the U18 almost solely thanks to Huska, and as I have seen the whole USA-SVK game, I don't think it had anything to do with effort, USA was (and is) about 2 levels above us.

And also, I have no idea how was Norway's win lucky, we have been playing tragically for 4 games, we were lucky to even get the 3 wins.

Despite being defeated in all games so far Slovenians didn't play bad. I think they will win this one 4:2.

Can't say I'm looking forward to this game. Even though they have key players like Kopitar and Mursak, is still believe we are a better team. Should be close, but I hope we win.

as Bober commented above, it's the hour of truth for both teams. it can't get better than this, this is the real thing. let's enjoy it, cheerz!

You must have slept through the game, then. Norway's first 2 goals were lucky bounces, and they got more in front of their own goal, such as in the final minutes when Slovakia was pressing hard for an equalizer. If that game had gone into overtime, no one could gave complained that it was undeserved for either side.

For sure must win game for us. Our schedule is really bad (2x we play next game 17 hours after finishing previous game) and I think it was right decision that they didn't play on full yesterday against Finland. Game would be more close but we would still lose. And that usually happened to us in previous years, they were totally motivated for a match against one of the top NT and then didn't have energy for following (usually) crucial match.

But at the end, if Slovenia don't bring this match to at least overtime, then they can say goodbye to top division again.

Basse!!

Hell yeah

Should probably been a penalty there also... Kopitar got tripped
