An absolute must-win game for both teams, if they want to make the play-offs.

Hopefully, we'll have more energy left in the tank when compared to Germany, who had quite an intense match against Sweden a little over 20 hours before the game vs. Latvia. Other than that, this is more or less a 50/50 game.

Wouldn't be surprised about another 1-0 win with the way both teams have been playing.

Hope that Germany plays like yesterday. But they'll be quite exhausted, I hope for the best and expect the worst (as I always do).

I will be tweeting photos from the game tonight

jtshark@londonhockey71

if you guys photos of any players tweet me their name number and team and I will do my best

I have a good feeling about this one. Didn't expect to feel like this before any of the games before the tournament.

Lat-Ger WCh game record - 3 victories, 4 losses and 1 tie.
Past three WChs - 3:2; 0:2; 2:3.

I think this game will be a lot tougher than previous game against Swiss. Everything is in the hands of the players, I hope they'll prevent disastrous mistakes on the ice.

And knowing that tomorrow we'll play against Austrians... I don't have a statistics about back to back games, but as I can recall we are terrible...

I decided to take a fast glance at back-to-backs @ WCh

2014: loss v GER after win v FIN / loss w SUI after loss v BLR
2013: loss v USA after loss v RUS / ot loss w FIN after win v FRA
2012: win v GER after loss v RUS / loss v SWE after loss v DEN

So, not diggin deeper, we are 1-4-1 in back-to-backs in previous 3 WCh

No offence, but these numbers aren't meaningful. It's not really a surprise that we would lose games against Sweden, Finland, the US or Switzerland.

What you would need to do is gather data from a much larger set of games and compare back-to-back games and regular games against the same opponent and then juxtapose the W-L ratios.

But there aren't enough games to form a big enough sample size, so all of these numbers are just pointless.

Why would you feel good about playing against Germany?

Because our team is playing better hockey than expected? Or because Germany seemingly have as many problems with roster as we do?

It's still basically a 50-50 game, no matter how much reasons you come up with.

I'am worried this will be our yearly loss vs weaker opponent, after beating a stronger one and raising everyone's hopes. :D

How about we break all traditions? It's about time. They say our hockey fans are without imagination and have no traditions.

Not even going to bother with you. Good luck with your optimistic outlook

First of all, you already bothered... And secondly, it's not my fault that you saw more in my original post than there actually was. :)
