Ok the final is gone and we rarely lose the bronze medal game so I hope it won't be otherwise this time.

The bronze game is more often won by the team who's a lesser hockey nation. Like Czech or Finland usually win those games against Russia, Sweden or Canada.

Czech win despite the better Swedish team, I'd think. If it were the final or semi/quarter-final Sweden would win, but for a nation that only cares about the gold and is top-ranked in every competition the bronze game means nothing. As it would for Russia or Canada.

So I believe in the Czech Republic. A bronze means something and the team will fight to get it. The swedes probably won't. Hope it doesn't get boring at least, I think players (most of them have no international medals) in the teams should think "when I summarize my career and life, will a bronze WC medal be something I'm proud of?"

Look at Sweden's best players like Möller and Lindström, or sort of all the players. Their worst team ever so for many this may be their only shot at a medal at the international level. So come on! It feels like nothing when you just missed your shot at the gold but in 50 years a WC medal will mean something big compared to no international medal at all on your trophy shelf.

Tempted to say Czechs win because they have great history in bronze medal games but man they dont have any time to recover from yesterday's game. Literally.

Haha funny that our media only have like a "note" about this Worldcup game:laugh:

But i will roat for Jagr! i think he deserve a medal atleast:)! i mean 42years old and still coming home when his countery calls him! that is more then what you can say about our Swedish players

Rather a 5-4 entertaining loss than a 2-1 win snoozefest.

But Grönberg is suspended so I guess we'll win.

Having Nilsson in net came back to bite us in our ass. I can't understand how no other NHL goaltender got the chance. Nilsson has played well, but he isn't exactly top 5 among Swedish goalies either. Although I certainly don't want to put Nilsson as a scapegoat for the 1-3 loss vs Russia, his two deflating goals compared to Bobrovsky's performance was a big difference.
