Great team defense by Russia. Except for a part of the second half of the first period, France's 1st line was not able to dominate 5 on 5 as they did in the other games.

They didn't take our team lightly. Congrats to them for that flawless win.

The refs were nitpicking in that one though. Many penalties were called that they could have let go. For both sides. The game lacked flow because of that.

Underwhelming performance for Russia offensively. Russia did not play with the same intensity as in the first group games. Hopefully the team is not wearing down physically.

Then again, Russia played almost flawless defense and France had zero real scoring opportunities in the game. It was a solid defensive but underwhelming offensive game for Russia.

Malkin is a great addition to this team as was expected.
