It will take a miracle on ice for France to win this, no matter how good their first line is. Never the less The Russians need to focus on defence when S Da Costa is out there!

I would say most people would have considered many of the French wins this tournament miracles, so don't put it past them. Still, they are up against the best team of the tournament so far, so they will have to reach deep into their bag of tricks.. I unfortunately haven't had a chance to see the russian team this year but it seems like they're the only one that's been up to expectations.

this going to be a very tough match, I would much prefer Russia face Canadians in the 1/4s then I would be fairly sure we would win. As it is I feel there will be undeserved confidence in our team and this will be a tough match like Germany or Belarus

It's playoff. I don't remember that Russia ever lose playoff match to a team that not belong to big 7. And there are absolutely no reason to think that today will be any different.

of all days, there're absolutely no reasons to lose to them on 9th of may, yet we managed that just fine

That's just because it's usually the biggest hockey countries that make it to the playoffs.

There are less big hockey countries in the world than playoff spots, so no. Usually in quarter-finals Russia plays with teams like Sweiz, Norway or Deutschland. And always wins those games.

Has Ovechkin even landed a good shot from the right point the whole tournament? The better is the good's worst enemy...
