France is such a weird team. They can sometimes beat Canada or Russia but then they lose teams like Italy. Germany is better ofc than Italy but still.

Endras stole that game for us, but I'm a bit afraid what Canada's offense will do to us tomorrow (especially if Endras gets the game off).

I don't have any expectations for tomorrow :D just hope that we can avoid double digits. But then again, this is not the game the team should focus on. :)

our first line misses Bellemare

Only missing on D:

Seidenberg-Holzer
Ehrhoff-Sulzer
Hördler

Lucky win for Germany but this is not the reason France lost. On paper Germany have te better team if this is a best on best tournament.

I could say we're missing Greiss, Grubauer and Zepp aswell. But after Endras saved us the game, I won't complain. ;)
I always wondered how Zepp managed to get a hold in NA and Endras never made the Wild oder their AHL team. I'm not saying that they're world class goalies, but I would take Endras over Zepp anytime.

Germany couldn't handle the French forechecking at all. They folded under pressure and constantly lost possession in their own zone. Quite frankly, their defensemen didn't look very convincing.

Then again France constantly wasted possession by making very low quality shots from the perimeter the entire game.

Not very good hockey from both teams. The battle for that 4th to 5th place is going to be very exciting by the looks of it. :)

In goal Germany never had a problem. I think some DEL goaltenders could easily be backup in the NHL.Anyway you need alot of luck to come in the NHL as Goalie if you not a Star.
Its a mystery for me that for example Curtis McElhinney plays NHL and Endras or Reimer never got really a chance.

France have a good 1st line: Roussel - Da Costa - Bellemare.

Germany does not have that.

I would rather just have Endras sit tomorrow. Give him the extra rest for Switzerland and then hope he plays 3 out of the last 4 games.

You are underestemating Marcel Goc and Tobias Rieder. Goc plays a defensive role in the NHL, but he is a good all around player at the WC level. I'd say him and Rieder has the same offensive ability as Roussel and Bellemare at the minimum. Da Costa is a wild card. He is great in the KHL but it's hard to say how he would fair in the NHL these days. And put Goc in the KHL on a line with Radulov and he could very well be a PPG player. And who knows how Draisaitl would do in the KHL. The skill is there to be a productive player.

Not sure how serious you are. Because of geographical proximity, most my hockey friends are die-hard Stars fans who follow everything about the program and if you ask them or just even look at stats you would know that Roussel's job is to make big hits and to get into fights. I myself am a big Flyers fan and everyone around that program knows that Bellemare is literally the worst forward we have. 12 points in 81 games, he was last on the team in pp60, gp60, ap60, apg and is second to last in ppg and gpg to Zac Rinaldo who plays Roussel's enforcer role for the Flyers. There is some talk of Bellemare leaving the Flyers and the sure thing is that he's the first down to the AHL when one of our prospects stands out. Stephane da Costa is fairly good and still getting better but he's not impeccable either. Germany has Goc and Wolf and Reider but they also have defensemen in Erhoff and Seidenberg who score at a better rate than Bellemare. The September 2016 Olympic qualifiers will probably be the best time to see the best on best between France and Germany if the NHL lets the players go and perhaps chemistry will factor favorably for France, but on paper, no one stands to gain more from the inclusion of NHLers in the qualifications than Denmark and Germany.
