France will destroy Germans,better players,better team,better everything.
only 1 player short (Bellemare) from best possible line up for France.

France winning games isn't a surprise anymore. - vive la france!!! -

I hope that those 2 biggest team france fans are at the arena,
those 2 always make make my day.

that rooster hat is awesome.

I love your optimism about the french victory
Wish the same but I think it will be a really tie game :sarcasm:

Tough to root for Germany but I'll go with them on that one. Their team is mostly made of DEL players so I'm not sure it'll be enough to make it to the 1/4 finals.. Anyway, France has only one line that COULD be a threat and they have guys playing in the ECHL :laugh: They'll have to battle hard with Austria to stay in the top division. Germany with the win today, 4-2.

France is pretty established in the top division now. I'd be very surprised if they were demoted. And ehm, there's only one player on France that played in the ECHL this year (Benjamin Dieude-Fauvel). Not to mention he was recalled for 20 games in the AHL.

Antoine Roussel is an established NHL third liner. Stephane Da Costa has NHL experience and is a top player in the KHL. Cristobal Huet played in the NHL for years and is a top goalie in Switzerland. Charles Bertrand is a high impact player in Liiga and I can see NHL teams be interested in him.

Yorick Treille played in the Czech league for many years. Sacha Treille plays in DEL and has played in Czech league and SHL. Florian Hardy and Laurent Meunier plays in DEL. Damien Fleury is a fine SHL player. Yohann Auvitu and Teddy Da Costa plays in Liiga.

These guys play at the same level as the German guys. Julien Desrosiers plays in France but has been a dependable point producer for three straight World Championships.

And many of the guys I didn't mention plays in (or has played in) Allsvenskan and Mestis. Some of the German players would end up in those leagues as well if they tried a career in Sweden or Finland.

Should be a close game, 50/50 imo who wins.

Well, we are far away from our best possible roster with Goc, Ehrhoff, Seidenberg, Greiss, Grubauer, Zepp, Draisaitl and many of our best DEL guys missing. Still, Germany is always a team that can play either way.. Not too sure about this one, always liked the French team, could go either way, but of course i am rooting for my country.

It would be nice to start the tournament with a win but I'm expecting a close game that either team could win. Also I hope either Endras or Pielmeier gets the start but I have feeling Cortina is going to put AdB in net.

Germany's lineup:

Rieder-Hager-Wolf
Ehliz-Pietta-Reimer
Plachta-Hospelt-Oppenheimer
Kink-Ullmann-Seidenberg
Raedeke

Müller-Krueger
Goc-Kohl
Köppchen-Daschner
Krupp

Endras
aus den Birken

That was funny,i know you were just joking, but
if not.

Team France have great goal scorers up to 3 lines
all players play either in NHL,KHL or in other top pro leagues.

France 6-7 goals,Germany 0-1.

Germany roster looks super weak to me
Rieder,Reimer,Hospelt and maybe that Oppenheimer fella
are good...and maybe Wolf.

about half of the players i haven't even heard of,
Endras haven't shined since 2010 .

I know games are not won on paper, but by just looking the rosters
and comparing them, its a no contest,France all the way
with big goal difference.

Yeah, no. I have no idea how you can look at these two rosters and come to the conclusion that France is clearly better, they aren't, not by a longshot.

Germany is missing quite a lot of players, and the defense is really weak, but these two teams are still on one level, and like always, who will win depends on how good a day either team is having.
