I think Hockey Canada didn't have any roster spots left open. (because Tavares wanted to come over but couldn't at the same time).

this is what i keep telling myself anyway.

They have a roster spot open. 2 actually. 1 for a goalie and 1 for a skater. They chose not to add. That would have meant taking another player out of the lineup who had already committed and given up time to play.

Oh, i didn't know that. (someone told me otherwise). thank you v. much!

But I think that is fair. I mean, ideally, yes you want to add Tavares & Price but it isn't fair to those who already committed and given up time to play. that seems kind of weird though that they ' d have to remove someone off to add someone in if they have spaces open .

FIN-CZE was, besides the atrocious reffing, the best match I've seen this year, including NHL playoffs. This match has the potential to top it. Two great teams, best player in the world captaining one of them, the forever young Jagr on the other. The crowds gonna be crazy, apparently thousands are following the game from outside the arena. The only worry I have is that Canada's got another level they can reach and if they do, it might get ugly. I'm going to be cheering my ass off for the home team, but even if they don't win I hope they can keep it close.

Imagine, grey-bearded Jagr wins this game just like he's done that against Finns

It's not just Vinneborg refereeing, it's Vinneborg AND Bulanov. So instead of one clown, you actually have two.

Canada has a level of play that the Czechs can't match. The only question is whether Canada plays to that level (which we saw in Periods 2-3 vs. Sweden). If not, it will be a great match.

Bring on the Clowns...

As much as I have poked fun at Pavelec, I think this game should be a very pitched battle...

The Czech's are a very physically strong team... good along the boards and in the tough areas so are a good match for Canada...

Plus Prague with lots of Pilsner going on in the crowd :)
