considering how the first period looked like, Finland must be very happy with the outcome

Czechs seem to have a decent sniper on every line.

Voracek has a nice collection of shots.

Jágr...

Erat has his days even though he is more of a speedster.

Hertl has a big bag of tricks...

Can I get some kind of comments on the game?

Czech's dominated the first. Rinne let in a weak goal on a one-timer from far out.

Finns had 2 chances and scored one goal.

Immonen with a great defensive play.

The penalty on Aaltonen was complete bull. He didn't play with a broken stick, he maybe held on to it for 0.5 seconds longer than normal but shouldn't have been a penalty.

The goal silenced the crowd and team Finland seemed to get back into the game for the last couple of minutes.

Czechs generally dominating play for 19 minutes and 50 seconds. Finns looking pretty sloppy and lethargic but trolled out the period with a late goal to tie it up. I would expect Finland to start playing more to their ability in the second - will be interesting to see how both teams react to that type of period.

Czechs dominated. Finland only had 3 shots on goal and couldn't even get into offensive zone.

Rinne was solid but the Czechs goal was a bit soft one between the legs

Ruutu scored on rebound from Kontiola's shot.

We were not ready for this game. We looked slow and phlegmatic for the first 15 min or so. Czech was totally dominating. We started to play better after we scored.

Oh come on it was a clear penalty, this whining about every call a ref makes against Finland is getting ridiculous..

I think it was quite fast too. I mean he dropped it literally as soon as he realised it's broken. Took one stride with the stick still in his hand. That's one too many I guess.

He participated in play while holding a broken stick. That's a penalty. I posted the exact rule earlier. Maybe he didn't notice it, but the rule doesn't account for that.

If the penalty is justified it's clear but I still don't understand why Aaltonen was punished as he skated to the bench after his stick was broken. He wasn't involved in any game action.

I seem to recall him pressuring the puck carrier while dropping the stick at the same time. Might've even touched the puck.

I think it was a weak call personally, but that is the way they call it in IIHF games - sticklers for the written text of the rule or whatever. So yeah, fair enough I guess.
