GDT: May 12 • Canada vs. Austria

The only luck for Austria is that (unlike in Europe) it's considered unethical in Canada to "run up the score". At around 10-0 at the latest, they will let up so as not to disgrace their opponent any further.
 
Canada's a little to lackadaisical at the offensive blueline. First Seguin had a shot blocked for a breakaway the other way, then Ekblad fumbled it for another breakaway, and Eberle almost had a puck picked off too.

Gotta clean that up.
 
Every team comes up against lesser opponents, and bad habits are bound to happen. It's not just Canada that has this problem - it's just amplified because of the scrutiny.

No, it most definitely isn't just Canada. But I'm watching Canada right now and there's not much else to talk about in an otherwise flawless period. Bad habits can be dangerous. That turnover might not matter in a 4-0 game against Austria. But in a 1-1 game against Russia or the States it will.

uh huh. If you want to reduce a torunament of 7 games for each team to just that, sure. Funny.

The Atlantic timezone is helpful for games in the early morning. Canada is showboating too much, but that can't be helped in this situation I guess. I still really like what I've seen from guys like O'Reilly, Couturier and Burns.
 
wow 9-1 is nice to wake up to. Plus had really odd dream. I was having beers with Lupul and we were hiding from all of these crazy stalkerish chicks but I was trying to get some from them but he wouldn't let me
