Prospect Info: Maxim Strbak, RD, Sioux Falls (USHL) - Selection 45OA, 2023

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Highlights from yesterday -

They went double OT to determine the Big 10 Champion yesterday.

Yes, that's him on the first OSU goal up by his own blueline and there is confusion on the backcheck but he's too wide trying to seal IMO. However, the rest of his game was his usual solid self. I'm still curious to see if anyone has TOI for him from yesterday. Most (5) of the goals both for and against were with Andrews on the ice, four with Gucciardi as his partner.

I am so torn as to whether or not to offer this guy an ELC after his year ends.

Yeah, he still has development to do.....but I wonder if it's time to get him "in house" and more control his development.

I really could go either way.

I'm still leaning hard toward no even with the dearth of RHD. Leave Komarov to percolate in more offensive roles, give Metsa an actual NHL contract even if he's now a Group VI UFA and could pick where he lands.

But with how they operate, I expect them to ram Strbak into the AHL lineup right away. I would rather he state at MSU until next spring, then sign him after his season ends.
