I don't really care what has happened for Pacioretty in the past. If the guy is currently healthy and can skate well, there's ZERO problems.

Of course they will scout his current form, and don't sign him blindfolded.

I disagree with that, Pulkkinen was a very dynamic player in the AHL that flashed scoring ability in a few callups. He took forever to shoot the puck but I would say he was slightly better than Berggren at this point in their careers.
You'd be entitled to your opinion, but I'm personally baffled by those kinds of takes. Pulkkinen had glaring problems with his skating that Berggren doesn't have, and aside from Berggren's injury plagued d+1 & 2 he has produced at a higher and more translateable rate ever since.
