I’d be ok with the Avs looking into him. He’s not the guy we need but will cost minimal assets and cap space, beggars can’t be choosers. Also he could probably fill in, possibly better, for Newhook should the Avs use him as trade bait in a package for a 2c. We have many C tier prospects and lower, have your choice Chicago!

Trading a 1st for him and not having it work out seems like it would be the most Leaf thing to do. Not saying that he's worth a 1st, but we all know the Leafs trade their 1sts like candy and Kyle Dubas is desperate.

Leafs might trade their first but I just don’t see it for max. Think the hawks ask a second.

If he was right handed I'd give a 2nd all day from the Jets. Adding a right handed Domi type and Appleton back from injury is what they need to fill out their bottom 6.

So you’re saying a 3rd and then a 4/5 if retained

The retention is small enough that Chicago probably doesn't gain much if any extra value in my opinion. Retention would pretty much be automatic.

That 4th/5th is more if they asked a third team to retain 50%.

Heard that also. Just came down to more money from Chicago. Just don’t see a first happening in any case for max from any team.
I hope not, if all it took was a 3rd or a 2nd I'd be on board because we'd still have enough assets to get something eise.
