I don't think he's getting 6 million over any years

I'm sure most would agree with you - but the Hawks are in an unusual position of (1) having more cap space than we can realistically use and it will be that way for the next 3 years. and (2) need to acquire the right type of linemate for Bedard and Domi fit the bill, and (3) the Hawks may need to pay someone $6M or $7M just to get to the cap floor.

Chicago likes Domi and Domi likes Chicago. Chicago has an abundance of Cap and will overpay for a likeable guy to help get to the floor.

People wont like his AAV and he'll likely be overpaid, but it's a perfect scenario for both parties. As long as there isn't a NMC, I'm fine with whatever the guy gets.

Or a MASSIVE upgrade on Kerfoot
not on the defensive side, and thats where Kerfoot's value came in... he could play on any line, not look out of place and was reliable defensively ...if he had any touch around the net, he'd be a 6mil player, but, he doesnt, so, he's like a baseball utility infielder who plays a different position every game ...good enough that you dont want him out of the lineup, but, not good enough to hold 1 spot on a perm basis.

I hope Pens sign him for this to destroy their future cap structure lmao
Paying a good player who is 28 years old for 5 years, on a team that is completely screwed after crosby retires in 3 years anyways, destroys this teams future cap structure?

Haha

Lmao indeed

I think most people wanted him out of the lineup

6 teams in 7 years....There has to be something that turns off coaches or teammates with this guy. I know he's small but he can play tough, so can't blame it on size. Attitude likely a big factor.

Is he a winger or a center? Would like Ottawa to grab him to replace Debrincat 2LW spot.

He's a center.

Docking him for being acquired at the deadline by playoff teams doesn't make any sense. He was a great pickup for the Stars. But these things run their course and he's got to get a contract that makes sense for him. It's not a negative reflection on the player.

He needs a situation like Dallas where he's been surrounded by tough skilled players ready to stand up at any time to thrive , He cannot sign with a Baby Poop Soft team like the Leafs . Signing him in Toronto will make him the next Kadri ie the only guy on the team with a pair down there and that leads to suspensions and PIMS until he is run out of town like Kadri and to some extent Bunting tho Bunting had a little of the Marchand in him leading to a lot of his PIMS he still always played like he had a pair unlike his linemates .

I think he will get 4 x 4.

Could see him landing in Calgary
If Domi has an offer of $4M x 4 he is willing to accept - I hope the Hawks would be willing to better that only for shorter term. Something like $5.5M x 3 which is higher total for 1 less year. The Hawks have the cap space but supposedly don't want to sign anyone beyond 3 years which would coincide with Bedard's post-ELC contract.

I agree with your sentiment, but Kadri is a cheap shot artist not a tough guy. Domi is similar yes but again, not a tough guy.

I see Domi going to the Jets. They'll need a C and if he plays with Connor that'll he a big opportunity for him

True - but it will be with Connor Bedard in Chicago.

Maybe look at the whole video of the Kadri shots starting 20 seconds before the hits , Marleau getting pushed into the end corner of the glass by the bench at full speed and Marner taking a flying elbow to the head while Chara had him pinned to the glass are way worse than what Kadri did in retaliation . That's just the way the game gets called , ROR tried to clip Kadri in the head with a flyby elbow after he scored against St Louis two playoffs ago and nothing called . If Kadri does that he will be suspended for life

Look at Kadri's whole career of slewfoots, hits from behind, hits to the head, and temper tantrums. Then get back to me.

As another user mentioned I could see Winnipeg.

Maybe $12 million over 3 years
He could bring in some jersey sales, and put up some decent point totals.
