Pasta took fewer shots, scored 10 game-winning goals to Ovechkin's 3, and found the time to add 29 more assists, making his 48 goals more impressive than Ovechkin’s.

This is a weird one to put together.... tie?

Points in Ovechkins Favor:
-> Better goals/gp
-> More even-strength goals (which I don't even think is a big deal tbh)
-> Worse linemates

Points in Pastrnaks Favor:
-> More GWG's
-> Less shots (also never a good comparison, as shot generation, distance of shots aren't factored in)

Will homer vote Ovechkin simply because this is essentially dead even in my opinion. No individual item to make one goal scoring season better than the other.

I thought the Richard did have a tie breaker in games played? I also realize there were co winners though so I’m not sure why I thought that. Maybe I’m thinking of the art ross

I'm personally leaning toward Ovechkin goal-scoring-wise. Pastrnak had a better supporting cast (which would explain the gwg to a degree) and relied more on the PP to score. Ovi tied him in 2 fewer games with less to work with.

Yeah it's the art ross that has a tie breaker. Not sure why they do it for one and not the other

Ovechkin scored 48 at age 34. That's more impressive than all of Pasta's stats.
